RedK DualTF Volume-Accelerated CCI (RedK VA-CCI)

🟩 RedK VA-CCI Release Notes
===========================
RedK VA-CCI is a modern take on the Commodity Channel Index (CCI) classic indicator.
RedK VA-CCI leverages the core CCI concept, and builds around it to provide traders with comprehensive insights, dual timeframe capabilities, and many other valuable features.
█ Background
=============
The Commodity Channel Index (CCI) is a favorite indicator for many traders. Donald Lambert introduced the CCI in 1980, in what was then Commodities magazine, to find trends in commodities - today it is used on all kinds of instruments.
█ How CCI works (some quick math)
===============================
The below chart shows RedK VA-CCI side-by-side with the built-in CCI indicator

====================================================================
█ Main features of RedK VA-CCI
===========================
Generally, the classic CCI, when combined with other trend and momentum indicators like moving averages or MACD, can be valuable in identifying trend retracement and continuation opportunities, or alert for upcoming trend direction change.
RedK VA-CCI with volume weighting and dual TF capabilities can deliver improved insight on TA elements like divergence with price, timeframe alignment, and other valuable signals, and with the use of alerts, it can provide traders with tools to improve the ability to identify and action potential setups.
Here are the major features in RedK VA-CCI
When first added to a chart, VA-CCI looks like a classic CCI (with more color). It will be volume-weighted by default. The other features can be turned on from the indicator settings.

Here's a quick rundown of the main visual elements of RedK VA-CCI

█ RedK VA-CCI Settings in Details
=============================
RedK VA-CCI gives traders the ability to customize many settings that are not available in the classic CCI, visual, calculation, and others. RedK VA-CCI shines in the ability to provide traders with the flexibility to tweak CCI in many other ways to suit their trading instrument, timeframe and style.
For RedK VA-CCI to match TradingView's built-in CCI, adjust these settings:
- Volume Weighted: off
- Smoothing: 1
- Stochastic Mode: off
- CCI Length and Source: match the same as the built-in CCI (20 & HLC3)
- Signal line: match the built-in CCI (14 & SMA)
- Adjust the colors as needed
This chart shows RedK VA-CCI with settings adjusted to exactly match the classic CCI

With these settings, the VA-CCI main plot and the built-in CCI show the exact same values, so the calculation is easy to check side by side.
Overall, there are 3 main sections in the Indicator settings, as shown in the screen below
1. Adjust main VA-CCI plot inputs and the signal line parameters, including enabling or disabling the volume-weighting feature, the stochastic mode, and smoothing.
2. Enable or disable the Context CCI plot and set the multiplier and the Context plot colors.
3. Adjust Control Levels, show Timeframe Alignment Markers, and other visual elements

✅ The screenshot below shows a side-by-side comparison between VA-CCI in normal mode (left) and in Stochastic mode (right). You will notice that in Stochastic mode, VA-CCI becomes more sensitive to price moves within the "lookback" window - which is expected. Choose the mode that suits your own analysis methods and your trading style.

✅ The screenshot below shows when TF Alignment Markers are enabled and will reflect the times where RedK VA-CCI detects alignment between both Current and Context TFs (bullish or bearish)

🔔 Alerts
=========

To work with these alerts, right-mouse click anywhere on the indicator visual elements, and choose "Add alert on RedK VA-CCI", and set the alert you need.
1. RedK VA-CCI crosses above zero (bullish)

█ How CCI works (some quick math)
===============================
CCI = (Typical Price - 20 Period SMA of TP) / (0.015 x Mean Deviation)
Typical Price (TP) = (High + Low + Close)/3
Lambert's Constant = 0.015
In simple words, CCI measures how far the typical price (the average of high, low and close) has moved away from its moving average, compared with the typical size of that distance (the mean deviation). A constant of 0.015 scales the result so that most values fall between +100 and -100.
Most charting platforms provide a built-in version of CCI. TradingView has more details on the classic CCI here

- Volume weighting: each bar is weighted by its volume - both in the average and in the deviation around it - so moves that happen on higher participation carry more weight. This setting is on by default.
- Stochastic mode: compares the CCI to its own high and low values over a recent lookback period, and turns it into a bounded oscillator (+100 / -100). This makes RedK VA-CCI simpler to work with and makes its signals easier to read.
- Dual timeframe: a simple multiplier adds a "Context" CCI plot from a higher timeframe (chart TF x multiplier), so VA-CCI can be used in alignment with a broader context - in line with the multi-timeframe methods used by many traders. The Context plot can update live, or only on the last closed higher-TF bar.
- TF Alignment Markers: show when the current TF and the Context TF agree on direction.
- Adjustable Control Levels (and related alerts): upper and lower levels, set separately. They work in both regular and Stochastic modes.
- 6 alerts, and visual enhancements: a colored main plot, a customizable signal line, reference lines and an optional soft cap that keeps extreme values from distorting the indicator pane.
When first added to a chart, VA-CCI looks like a classic CCI (with more color). It will be volume-weighted by default. The other features can be turned on from the indicator settings.

█ RedK VA-CCI visual elements
============================
Here's a quick rundown of the main visual elements of RedK VA-CCI
- Main CCI plot (thick line): bullish color above zero, bearish color below zero.
- Signal line (thin gray line): a moving average of the main plot.
- Zero line (solid) and Control Levels (dashed, default +70 / -70), with the gradient fill beyond them.
- Reference lines (dotted): +/-200 in regular mode, +/-100 in Stochastic mode.
- Context CCI plot (when on): a thin line with shading above or below zero.
- TF alignment markers (when Context is on): squares at the top while both plots are above zero, at the bottom while both are below zero. The squares disappear when the two plots disagree.

📝 Notes on Use and Limitations
=====================================================================
- Volume data: if the symbol has no volume feed, RedK VA-CCI automatically falls back to price-only calculation.
- Every effort has been made to provide a professional-level indicator - e.g., useful insights, no clutter, clean indicator status bar and a useful "data window" - If you notice any issues in that regard, please alert me directly.
- This is an insight tool, not a signal service. The markers and alerts describe price and volume readings. They are not advice to enter or exit any position, and the indicator does not claim predictive accuracy.
