Structure Notes 4/5
A failed CHoCH is not automatically noise.
It is often the answer.
In my own chart review, the failed shifts were sometimes more useful than the clean ones. A CHoCH would print, structure would appear to change, and then price would fail to continue. The attempted shift would get absorbed, reclaimed, or pushed back into the prior structure.
At first, that looked like a bad read.
Over time, I started treating it differently.
A failed CHoCH tells me that one side tried to change control and could not hold it. That matters. The break happened, but the market did not accept the new side. The attempted shift became evidence about who was still defending the structure.
This is why deleting failed examples from review is dangerous.
If I only study the CHoCHs that worked cleanly, I train myself to trust the label more than the sequence. But the failed examples are where the process gets tested. They show which conditions create weak shifts, which areas are contested, and where structure breaks without control changing.
The failure is not the trade.
The failure is the information.
I am not looking for failed CHoCH as a signal. I am looking at it as evidence that the attempted shift did not gain acceptance.
That distinction matters.
Failed structure is not noise if you know what question it answered.
