Gold Bears Take Control – Retest or Continuation?

124
This chart highlights a significant shift in market structure after strong U.S. employment data accelerated selling pressure in gold.

Price spent several sessions trading between a well-defined resistance near 4500 and support around 4425. Multiple rejections from resistance (red arrows) confirmed that sellers were defending higher prices, while buyers repeatedly stepped in at support (blue arrows).

The yellow zone marks a historical demand area where buyers previously entered the market and pushed price higher. However, following Friday's high-impact employment data, selling momentum increased dramatically and price broke through this support region with little resistance.

The sharp bearish move carried XAUUSD toward the previous day's low and into a new reaction zone around 4300. At the moment, price is consolidating after the aggressive selloff.

The key focus for Monday is whether price:

Retests the broken support/demand zone and gets rejected, supporting further downside.
Or reclaims the area and signals that sellers are losing momentum.

Until buyers recover the broken structure, the overall short-term bias remains bearish.

XAUUSD successfully completed the bearish scenario outlined in the previous analysis.

After losing support around the 4350 region, sellers maintained full control and pushed price nearly 150 points lower toward the 4200 target area. The breakdown was followed by strong momentum, leaving little opportunity for buyers to regain control.

The move demonstrates how important market structure can be when combined with high-impact economic data and clear technical levels.

With the primary objective achieved, the focus now shifts toward whether price will retrace into the broken zones or continue searching for liquidity at lower levels.

For now, the bearish projection has played out successfully, and the market is approaching a new decision point.
