Full Candle Engulfing indicator
Full Candle Engulfing – BUY and SELL
This indicator identifies bullish and bearish full-candle engulfing patterns. A valid setup occurs when the current candle’s complete high-to-low range contains the entire previous candle, including both wicks.
Bullish setup:
• Current candle is bullish.
• Previous candle is bearish when the opposite-colour filter is enabled.
• Current high is at or above the previous high.
• Current low is at or below the previous low.
Bearish setup:
• Current candle is bearish.
• Previous candle is bullish when the opposite-colour filter is enabled.
• Current high is at or above the previous high.
• Current low is at or below the previous low.
The indicator supports:
• Independent BUY and SELL toggles.
• Configurable entry-validity candles.
• Optional EMA trend filtering.
• Adjustable EMA length.
• Optional entry-level lines.
• Optional BULL ENGULF and BEAR ENGULF labels.
• BUY, SELL and setup alerts.
BUY confirmation occurs when a valid bullish candle closes above the saved bullish engulfing body-high level.
SELL confirmation occurs when a valid bearish candle closes below the saved bearish engulfing body-low level.
The setup is intended primarily for XAUUSD on the 5-minute timeframe, but it can be tested on other symbols and timeframes. Signals should be confirmed using appropriate risk management, market structure and session conditions.
This indicator does not guarantee profitable trades and should be thoroughly backtested before use in live trading.
