Order Block Strength

3 993
Order Block Strength detects bullish and bearish order blocks from market structure breaks and assigns each one a strength score from 0% to 100%, so you can focus on the zones most likely to matter instead of treating every order block equally.

HOW ORDER BLOCKS ARE DETECTED
1. Swing highs and lows are confirmed using pivots (Swing Length bars on each side).
2. When price closes above the latest swing high, a bullish break of structure is registered. The indicator then searches back to the swing point and selects the lowest bearish candle as the bullish order block. If no bearish candle exists in that range, the lowest candle is used.
3. Bearish order blocks work the same way in reverse: a close below the latest swing low, then the highest bullish candle before the move.

HOW THE STRENGTH SCORE IS CALCULATED
Each order block is scored at the moment it forms using three components (weights are adjustable):
- Volume (default 35%): volume of the order block candle relative to its moving average. A ratio of 2x average (adjustable) gives the full score. On symbols without volume data this component is neutral (50%).
- Displacement (default 40%): how far price travelled away from the order block on the breaking candle, measured in ATR. A move of 3 ATR (adjustable) gives the full score.
- Fair Value Gap (default 25%): whether the impulse after the order block left a fair value gap (imbalance).

The weighted result is shown on the label, for example "Bull OB 82%". Stronger order blocks are drawn with a more opaque box.

RETESTS AND MITIGATION
- Every time price returns into an active order block, it counts as a retest and the score is reduced (default 15% per retest). The label shows the current score and the number of retests.
- An order block is considered mitigated when price closes beyond it (or wicks beyond it, if Wick is selected). Mitigated blocks are removed by default.
- Enable "Keep Mitigated OBs on Chart" to keep invalidated blocks in grey together with the score they had when they broke, for example "Mitigated (38%)". This makes it easy to review how high and low scoring blocks behaved historically.
- Overlapping order blocks on the same side are filtered: only the strongest one is kept (can be disabled).

DISPLAY
- Labels are placed to the right of the current price so they stay readable and never sit behind candles. The distance can be adjusted with "Label Offset".
- Maximum number of active order blocks per side is adjustable to keep the chart clean.
