Unbroke ORB Stats

TITLE:
Unbroke ORB Stats

DESCRIPTION (paste everything below this line):
Unbroke ORB Stats draws the opening range (OR) for each day, its extension levels and first breakouts, and adds a stats panel that counts how breakouts behaved compared with random ranges taken later in the same session.

What it does
  • Opening range box: default 09:30-10:00 New York time (5/15/30/60 minutes or custom; session and time zone are inputs).
  • OR high and low lines to the session end, a dotted midline, and extension levels at 0.5x, 1x and 2x the OR width above the high and below the low.
  • A marker on the first bar that CLOSES beyond each side within 120 minutes after the range, once per side per day. Alerts for both. Markers appear at bar close only and do not repaint.
  • A range is used only if every bar of it exists. The last 3 days are drawn.

How to read the panel
  • Today: OR high/low, first break side and time.
  • History (descriptive): how often a day broke up only, down only, both or neither; how often the first breakout reached 1x the OR width before the opposite side; and how often it closed back inside first (failed).
  • Random column first: 10 random ranges per day of the same length, at distinct random start times within the session, scored with identical rules. The width-matched row reweights random ranges to the OR's width (in ATR) mix, so wide and narrow days are compared fairly.
  • Fewer than 20 cases show "insufficient data". The forward row stays "recording" with no verdict until the registered read.

Inputs
1. Opening range (session, time zone, length, horizon), 2. Display (days drawn, glow, midline, extension multiples, markers, labels, panel position, top offset, text size), 3. Proof panel (min n, forward start, registered read, random ranges, seed), 4. Export.

Limitations
  • Needs an intraday chart with a timeframe that divides the OR length.
  • Random ranges start at other times of the session, when activity differs from the open; the baseline is a reference, not a perfect control.
  • Results depend on the history your plan loads.

Forward test
Live forward test running on NQ1! 5m with default settings from Oct 26, 2026; results to be published on Oct 29, 2027 (16:00 ET).

Originality
Original Pine Script v6 code by Unbroke, open-source under MPL 2.0. The width-matched random-range baseline and scoring rules are our own design. No third-party code is used.

Информация о релизе
In simple terms: what it does and how to use it
  1. Add it to an intraday chart (for example 5 minutes). It draws a box around the first 30 minutes of the trading day (9:30-10:00 New York time by default). That box is the "opening range": the high and low of the open.
  2. Lines extend the high and low across the day, plus extra levels above and below at half, one and two times the box height, so you can see how far price has stretched.
  3. A marker appears on the first candle that closes above or below the box. It shows when price left the opening range; it is not a buy or sell signal.
  4. The stats panel counts how these breakouts went in the past on your chart, next to boxes taken at random times later in the day. History is a description of the past, not a prediction.

Example chart:
The shaded box is the first 30 minutes of the day; the solid lines are its high and low, and the dotted lines above and below show how far price stretched. The small triangle marks the first candle that closed outside the box.
