What This Indicator Shows
The indicator automatically builds a rolling intraday range and displays:
New York open vertical line
Active NY session range high
Active NY session range low
Range midpoint
Adaptive upper and lower edge zones
Range box shading
Reversal confirmation markers
Breakout and retest markers
Long and short trigger triangles
Relative volume context
Chop-risk logic
Compact dashboard showing the current range state
Main Concept
At the upper range edge, price can either:
Reject and rotate lower, creating a possible short reversal setup.
Break above, hold outside the range, retest, and continue higher.
At the lower range edge, price can either:
Reject and rotate higher, creating a possible long reversal setup.
Break below, hold outside the range, retest, and continue lower.
Range Edge Reversal
A range edge reversal happens when price tests or briefly pushes through a range edge, then closes back inside the range.
For a bullish reversal:
Price tests the lower range edge.
Sellers fail to continue lower.
Price closes back inside the range with bullish confirmation.
A long trigger appears if price breaks above the confirmation candle.
For a bearish reversal:
Price tests the upper range edge.
Buyers fail to continue higher.
Price closes back inside the range with bearish confirmation.
A short trigger appears if price breaks below the confirmation candle.
These trades typically look for rotation back toward the range midpoint, VWAP area, or the opposite side of the range.
Range Breakout Continuation
A range breakout continuation happens when price closes outside the range, holds beyond the edge, retests the broken range boundary, and then continues.
For a bullish continuation:
Price closes above the range high.
Price holds outside the range.
Price retests the upper edge from above.
A long trigger appears after the retest confirms.
For a bearish continuation:
Price closes below the range low.
Price holds outside the range.
Price retests the lower edge from below.
A short trigger appears after the retest confirms.
Marker Meanings
REV = Range edge rejection/reversal confirmation
Price tested a range edge and closed back inside.
BR = Range breakout
Price closed outside the range.
RT = Breakout retest
Price retested the broken range edge and held outside.
Green triangle = Long trigger
A bullish reversal or continuation trigger has appeared.
Red triangle = Short trigger
A bearish reversal or continuation trigger has appeared.
Dashboard States
The dashboard summarizes current range behavior:
WAITING — No active range-edge condition.
EDGE WATCH — Price is near the upper or lower edge.
REV LONG — Lower-edge reversal setup is active.
REV SHORT — Upper-edge reversal setup is active.
BREAK LONG — Bullish breakout continuation is developing.
BREAK SHORT — Bearish breakout continuation is developing.
LONG TRIGGER — Long trigger has fired.
SHORT TRIGGER — Short trigger has fired.
CHOP RISK — Two-sided range breaks suggest messy conditions.
OFF SESSION — Outside the New York active session.
For continuation trades, elevated volume can help confirm that the breakout has participation behind it. For reversal trades, volume can help show whether the edge test had enough activity to matter.
Best Used For
5-minute charts
New York cash session
Rotational or range-bound market conditions
Failed breakout or range expansion decisions
Important Notes
The strongest setups usually occur when:
The range is clearly defined.
Price reaches a true range edge, not the middle.
There is enough room to target at least 1.5R–2R.
The trigger does not appear directly into a major opposing level.
The market is not in a strong one-directional trend.

Release Note
FlowScope Range Edge Manual — MNQ is a semi-discretionary range trading indicator designed for MNQ/NQ on the 5-minute chart during the New York cash session.Instead of trying to automatically guess every range, this indicator lets you manually define the range high and range low, then applies structured reversal and breakout-continuation rules around those levels.
Manual Range High
Manual Range Low
Then the indicator tracks:
upper-edge rejection
lower-edge rejection
breakout acceptance
breakout retests
continuation triggers
midpoint chop
no-trade middle-zone conditions
What This Indicator Shows
The indicator includes:
New York open vertical line
Manual range high
Manual range low
Manual range midpoint
Upper and lower edge zones
Subtle range box shading
Reversal confirmation dots
Breakout and retest markers
Long and short trigger triangles
Relative volume context
Chop warning based on midpoint rotation
Compact dashboard showing range state and suggested action
Manual Setup Workflow
Identify a clear range on the chart.
Enter the range high in the settings.
Enter the range low in the settings.
Wait for price to reach the upper or lower edge.
Avoid trades in the middle of the range.
Trade only after rejection, reclaim, breakout acceptance, or retest confirmation.
Example:
If MNQ is rotating between 29,920 and 30,000, set:
Manual Range High: 30000
Manual Range Low: 29920
The indicator will then treat that area as the active range.
Range Edge Reversal
A range edge reversal happens when price tests one side of the manual range and fails to continue beyond it.
Lower-edge reversal long
Price tests or sweeps the lower range edge.
Sellers fail to continue lower.
Price closes back inside the range.
A confirmation dot appears.
A long trigger appears if price breaks above the confirmation candle.
Upper-edge reversal short
Price tests or sweeps the upper range edge.
Buyers fail to continue higher.
Price closes back inside the range.
A confirmation dot appears.
A short trigger appears if price breaks below the confirmation candle.
These trades usually target the midpoint first, then possibly the opposite side of the range.
Range Breakout Continuation
A range breakout continuation happens when price breaks out of the manual range, accepts beyond the edge, retests the broken edge, and continues.
Bullish breakout continuation
Price closes above the range high plus the breakout buffer.
Price holds above the range.
Price retests the upper edge from above.
A long trigger appears if price breaks above the retest candle.
Bearish breakout continuation
Price closes below the range low minus the breakout buffer.
Price holds below the range.
Price retests the lower edge from below.
A short trigger appears if price breaks below the retest candle.
This helps avoid blindly chasing the first breakout candle.
Marker Meanings
Confirmation dot = Range edge rejection or retest confirmation
Price has interacted with the range edge in a meaningful way.
BR = Range breakout
Price closed outside the manual range by the selected breakout buffer.
Green triangle = Long trigger
A bullish range reversal or bullish breakout-continuation trigger has appeared.
Red triangle = Short trigger
A bearish range reversal or bearish breakout-continuation trigger has appeared.
CHOP = Chop warning
Price has rotated through the midpoint repeatedly.
Dashboard States
The dashboard summarizes the current range condition:
WAITING — No active setup.
MIDDLE — Price is inside the middle of the range. No trade zone.
EDGE WATCH — Price is near the upper or lower range edge.
CHOP RISK — Repeated midpoint rotation suggests messy conditions.
OFF SESSION — Outside the active New York session.

Important Notes
This indicator does not automatically know the “correct” range. The quality of the signals depends heavily on the quality of the manual range you define.
The strongest range setups usually happen when:
The range has obvious upper and lower boundaries.
Price has tested both sides of the range.
The range is wide enough to offer realistic MNQ reward.
You avoid trading in the middle.
You wait for confirmation at the edge.
You respect failed breakouts and reclaim behavior.
