CTZ Whale vs Retail Flow

OVERVIEW
This indicator separates heavy-volume activity (whales) from normal-volume activity (retail) and shows whether each side is net buying or net selling, directly on the price chart.

The idea is simple:
• Bottoms form when retail is shaken out (selling) while whales absorb it (buying).
• Tops form when retail chases (buying) while whales distribute into it (selling).

Whale flow alone is never enough, so every signal must be backed by independent confirmation from the Coinbase premium and/or open interest.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Aggregated spot volume
Each chart candle is broken into lower-timeframe candles from four spot exchanges combined: Binance, Coinbase, OKX and Bybit. The lower timeframe is chosen automatically (1m up to 1H charts, 5m for 2H–4H, 15m for 5H–1D, 60m above 1D).

2. Whale vs retail split
Any intrabar candle with volume at least 3x the normal intrabar volume is classed as whale activity; everything else is retail. Each candle's volume is split into buying and selling based on where it closed within its range.

3. Three-part confirmation score
• Whale flow (required): whale strength above +0.5 while retail sells (buy), or below -0.5 while retail buys (sell). Strength is measured against its own history, so it adapts to any timeframe.
• Coinbase premium: Coinbase price above Binance = US buyers paying up (buy). Below = US demand absent (sell).
• Open interest: OI 3%+ below its recent peak = longs flushed (buy). OI 3%+ above its recent low = leverage piling in (sell).

A signal needs whale flow plus at least one confirmation (2/3 by default).

WHAT YOU SEE ON THE CHART
• WHALE BUY x/3 – whales buying, retail selling, near a recent low, confirmed. The number is the score.
• WHALE SELL x/3 – whales selling, retail buying, near a recent high, confirmed.
• Red candle painted bright green – price fell but whales were heavily net buying (hidden accumulation).
• Green candle painted bright red – price rose but whales were heavily net selling (hidden distribution).
• Green / red background – confirmed accumulation / distribution zone. Darker shading = 3/3.

DASHBOARD
• LTF / Exchanges – lower timeframe in use and number of exchanges loading (should be 4).
• Whale flow / Retail flow – net buying (+) or selling (-) as % of volume over the last 20 bars.
• Whale strength – how unusual whale flow is. Above +0.5 strong buying, below -0.5 strong selling.
• CB premium – green = US buying, red = US selling.
• OI vs peak – 0% = leverage at its high, -3% or lower = flush.
• Buy / Sell score – how many checks are active on each side.
• State – ACCUMULATION, DISTRIBUTION or Neutral.

HOW TO USE IT
Use two timeframes:
• Daily (or 22H) for direction – slower but more reliable.
• 4H for entries – only take 4H signals that agree with the higher timeframe.

Higher TF Neutral/Accumulation + 4H WHALE BUY = normal long setup.
Higher TF Distribution + 4H WHALE BUY = no trade, wait.
WHALE BUY on both = highest conviction (rare).
The same logic applies in reverse for sells.

Bottom checklist:
• Retail flow turns negative (capitulation)
• OI drops 3%+ from its peak (longs flushed)
• Whale strength turns positive, then above +0.5
• CB premium turns green
• Early sign: a red candle in your zone painted bright green

Top checklist:
• Retail flow positive (chasing)
• OI near its peak (0%)
• Whale strength below -0.5
• CB premium red
• Often on a high-volume vector candle into supply

IMPORTANT: wait for the candle to close. On a forming bar, whale flow, premium and OI keep updating, so a label can appear and disappear. Set alerts to "Once Per Bar Close".

SETTINGS
• Whale size (default 3x) – raise to 4–6 for fewer, larger whales.
• Whale zone sensitivity (0.5) – raise for fewer zones and labels.
• Candle sensitivity (1.0) – 1.5 = strong only, 2.0 = extreme only.
• Min score to signal (2) – set to 3 for the cleanest signals.
• Cooldown bars (10) – stops labels stacking.
• Buys only – hides all sell signals.
• Auto-tune on daily and above – loosens thresholds on 1D+ so signals still appear.
• Exchanges 1–4 – untick any to remove it.
• OI symbol – if the dashboard shows n/a, search "BTCUSDT OI" and paste that symbol here.

ALERTS
• Whale buy (confirmed)
• Whale sell (confirmed)
• Red candle, whales buying
• Green candle, whales selling

BEST USED ON
BTCUSDT on a single real-volume exchange chart (e.g. BINANCE:BTCUSDT), 4H to daily.

LIMITATIONS
TradingView provides candles, not individual trades. A "whale" here is an intrabar candle with abnormal volume, which may be one large order or many orders arriving together. Buy/sell split is estimated from candle structure, not trade-by-trade aggressor data. Lower-timeframe history is limited, so daily charts reach back a shorter distance.

This indicator is a tool for reading order flow and is not financial advice. Always use your own risk management.

Release Note
Here are the release notes for the update, ready to paste:

```
UPDATE – Low Levels + Whale Size
NEW: LOW LEVELS (LINES ON CHART)
The indicator now plots three levels below price so you can see where a bottom is expected and when the low is breaking:
• Expected low (green dashed) – the nearest swing low below price, where liquidity sits and a bottom usually forms.
• Break below (red solid) – the expected low minus 0.25 x ATR. A candle closing below this means the low is breaking.
• Squeeze target (orange dotted) – the next swing low below the break level, where a long squeeze is likely to run.
Levels are drawn for the chart timeframe plus two higher timeframes (default 4H and 1D), each labelled with its timeframe, e.g. "1D Break below 80,069". Duplicate timeframes are skipped automatically.
The levels stay in place while price tests them and only roll down to the next swing once price closes below the break level. They return when price closes back above.
HOW TO READ THEM
• Wick below the expected low, close back above = sweep / stop hunt. Often the bottom, especially with a bright-green whale candle.
• Close below the break level = low is breaking. Expect a move toward the squeeze target.
• Close back above a broken level = reclaim. Bullish.
NEW ALERTS
• Breaking low – price closed below the break level
• Low swept – expected low wicked, candle closed back above
• Broken low reclaimed – price closed back above a broken low
NEW SETTINGS (Low Levels group)
• Chart timeframe levels on/off
• Two extra timeframes, each with on/off and selectable timeframe (default 4H and 1D)
• Swing strength (default 5) – raise to 8–10 for major lows only
• Break buffer (default 0.25 x ATR) – how far below the low a close must be to count as a break
CHANGED
• Whale size default raised from 3x to 10x average intrabar volume. Only genuinely large bursts now count as whale activity, giving cleaner whale flow and fewer false signals. If you already have the indicator on your chart, remove it and add it again to pick up the new default.
UNCHANGED
Whale/retail flow, Coinbase premium, OI confirmation, WHALE BUY / SELL labels, divergence candles, zones and dashboard all work as before.
