Confirmation Bars + Cooldown - Engineering Stability into Regime Classification

A regime tool is only useful if you can trust it.
If a label flips TREND→CHOP→TREND every few bars, you stop using it — even if the math is correct.

AG Pro Trend Quality includes two stability controls designed to reduce regime flicker:

1) Confirmation Bars
Instead of switching regimes on a single bar, the script can require N consecutive bars beyond the threshold band before changing state.
This helps filter “one-bar spikes” and reduces impulsive regime switching.

2) Change Cooldown Bars
Even after a state change occurs, the script can hold that state for a short cooldown window.
This prevents rapid re-flips during boundary conditions.

Why stability matters (real trading reasons)
- It reduces decision fatigue.
- It prevents constant rule switching (“Now I’m trend trading… now I’m range trading…”).
- It produces cleaner alerts (fewer repeated notifications in choppy zones).

A professional tuning method (simple)
Step 1 — Start with small confirmation (e.g., 1–2) and modest cooldown (e.g., 1–3).
Step 2 — If your market is noisy, increase confirmation first.
Step 3 — Only then increase cooldown if flicker persists.
Change one variable at a time and observe behavior over a meaningful sample, not just a single day.

Limitations
Stability settings introduce lag by design. You may recognize regime shifts later, but you gain a more usable system.
