RSI 60-40 | Bull & Bear Zone Fill

555
he standard RSI uses 70/30 as overbought/oversold levels, which works well for ranging markets but generates too many false signals in trending conditions. This indicator shifts the key levels to 60 and 40, a framework popularized by Constance Brown and widely used in trend-following analysis.
How the zones work:
— Above 60 → bullish momentum zone (market is in an uptrend structure)
— Below 40 → bearish momentum zone (market is in a downtrend structure)
— Between 40–60 → neutral / consolidation zone
Visual logic:
The fill between RSI and the 60 line activates only when RSI crosses above 60, highlighting active bull momentum. Similarly, the fill between RSI and the 40 line activates below 40 for bear momentum. The 40–60 band is shaded as a neutral reference zone.
Best used for:
— Identifying trend regime on daily and weekly charts
— Avoiding counter-trend trades by staying out of the neutral zone
— Combining with price action or RS analysis for high-probability setups
Settings:
— Length: 14 (default, adjustable) I use 30 Length
