Moon Phases (Full / New)

Marks full moons and new moons directly on your chart with icons and labels pinned to the bottom of the pane. It works on any symbol and any timeframe, from intraday to monthly, including markets that close on weekends or overnight.
How it works
The script calculates lunar events from the mean synodic month (about 29.53 days), anchored to a known new moon on 2000-01-06. Each half-cycle (about 14.77 days) alternates between a new moon and a full moon. On every bar it checks whether an event occurred since the previous bar closed. If a moon falls while the market is closed (weekends, holidays, session breaks), the marker appears on the next bar that opens, so none are skipped.
Features
🌕 Full moon and 🌑 new moon markers at the bottom of the chart
Text labels (“Full” / “New”), toggleable
Optional plain colored dots instead of emoji
Optional background tint on moon bars, which helps on intraday charts where a single bar is easy to miss
Alerts for both full and new moons
Each marker type can be switched on or off
Limitations
Uses the mean lunar cycle, not exact astronomical data. Actual event times can differ by up to roughly 14 hours, so a marker may land one bar early or late.
Moons that occur while the market is closed are drawn on the first open bar afterward, not at the exact astronomical moment.
On very wide bars (weekly/monthly), a single bar can show both a new and a full moon.
Emoji rendering depends on your OS and browser. If they look off, disable “Use emoji icons”.
Disclaimer
This is a visual reference tool, not a trading signal. It makes no claim that lunar phases have any predictive value for price. Do your own testing before drawing conclusions.
