Strong Magnet Zones | ProjectSyndicate

▪️Strong Magnet Zones takes the two forces that actually move price — the liquidity resting beyond every swing, and the imbalance left behind when price leaves a level in a hurry — and fuses them into a single kind of zone. Most tools draw supply and demand from one lens and liquidity pools from another, and leave you with two overlapping maps to reconcile. This indicator treats them as what they are: the same thing seen twice. A shelf where business was done and a pool of stops waiting to be taken are the same magnet. It builds one family of zones from both, scores each by how strongly it pulls, and marks the hottest one above and below price as the magnet the market is leaning toward.
▪️Every zone is one of two things and nothing else. MAGNET ZONE BULLS sit below price — sell-side stops under swing lows, stacked with demand bases where price exploded away — the fuel for a move up. MAGNET ZONE BEARS sit above — buy-side stops over swing highs, stacked with supply bases — the fuel for a move down. Where a stop pool lands inside a base, the two merge into one confluence zone that scores higher than either alone, because that is where real resting orders and a real imbalance overlap. The map is rebuilt from the market's own order flow on each closed bar.
▪️A zone is not a guess at a line. It carries a live record: how much heat it holds, how many swings have stacked into it, the strength of the leg-out that built it, whether it holds a round number, and what has happened to it since. That record is scored 0–10, graded into a tier, and written on the zone in one clean line. The strongest zone above and the strongest below are tagged as magnets. Everything that has already resolved is greyed out and kept as history, so the structure that built this market stays visible without crowding the levels in play.
🧲 The Magnet Map (the core). Two engines feed one zone family. Swing highs and lows become stop-pool zones; compression-then-explosion candles become supply and demand bases. Both are built on a timeframe you lock — so every chart at or below it (1m, 5m, 15m, 30m) shows the exact same map, read without repaint from the last closed bar of that timeframe. When a new pool or base lands close to a same-side zone it merges into it: the level rebases, heat stacks, and a pool-inside-a-base becomes a confluence zone. Every zone is forced to the same universal height, centered on its level, so thickness never distracts — the color and the score carry the meaning, not the box size.
⭐ Strength Score (0–10). Every zone is graded before it is drawn. The score blends its heat (volume-weighted, with equal-high/equal-low stacking and a round-number boost, decaying on a half-life so a zone nothing has touched in a long time quietly cools), its supply/demand quality (how explosive the leg-out was, how full-bodied, how heavy the volume behind it), and a confluence bonus where liquidity and a base overlap. That mix keeps the scores honest and separated — a quiet range doesn't light up every zone, and a busy one still tells you which shelf is king. The score drives a four-tier grade, a star rating, and a denser fill on the zones that matter most.
🏛️ The Record, Written On The Zone. Each zone carries its own one-line label: a star rating, its score out of ten, its tier — ELITE, STRONG, MODERATE, WEAK or FORMING — and only the stats that apply. Stacked pools show a ×count, a base shows its leg-out multiple, an overlap shows CONF, a volume surge and a round number show their own marks, and the status reads FRESH, then the retest count, then its outcome. To keep the chart clean, only the best-scoring live zones in view are drawn per side, and full labels go only to the strongest of them. Lower-ranked zones stay alive in the engine — still stacking, still merging, still armed — they just don't take ink until they earn it.
🎨 Bulls, Bears & In-Play Coloring. The map reads price position by construction. Bull magnets below price are teal, bear magnets above are magenta, and the zone price is trading inside glows live, so the structure above and below you is color-separated the instant you look. Every tone, the fill transparency, the borders and the resolved-zone shading are adjustable.
🎯 The Sweep → Reclaim Signal. A directional signal rides on top of the map. When a zone is swept — price spikes through it to grab the liquidity beyond — and then price reclaims the level within a set window, the grab has failed and the magnet has done its work. If an invisible trend filter agrees, a BUY or SELL prints, scored 0–10 on the heat of the zone that was swept, how cleanly it reclaimed, and how much room there is to the opposite magnet. Each signal opens a single trade ticket — entry, stop beyond the sweep's extreme, target at the opposite magnet — drawn as a reward box and a risk box so the R is visible before the trade resolves.
🔬 Honest Outcome Tracking. Nothing is hidden to flatter the map. Every ⚡ sweep is marked and then recolored by what actually happened next — solid if price reversed, faded if it kept going — and the running reversal rate is carried in its tooltip. Every zone's outcome is kept: WORKED when price travels a full zone-height away after a test, SWEPT → REVERSED or SWEPT → CONTINUED once the result is known. Every trade ticket is resolved stop-first on an ambiguous bar, counted whether it won or lost, and left on the chart with its result. What you see on history is what you would have seen live.
🔔 Native Alerts. Bull magnet swept, bear magnet swept, zone tested, zone worked, magnet above / below reached, price within reach of a magnet, BUY signal, SELL signal, ticket target hit and ticket stop hit — each firing only on confirmed conditions and naming the event and the price.
🎯 Why this is different. One tool, one map. Supply and demand and liquidity are not two indicators stacked on a chart here — they are merged into a single zone that scores higher where they overlap. The levels are built on a timeframe you lock, so lower charts inherit the higher-timeframe map instead of inventing their own. Thickness is removed as a variable so strength reads purely through score and color. And the whole thing is measured honestly — sweeps recolored by outcome, zones graded by what they did, tickets counted win or lose — so the map in front of you is built from the market's own record, not from where a line happened to land.
🚀 Built to adapt. The build timeframe, the swing length, the merge tolerance, the universal zone height, the heat decay and all its weights, the scoring, the full color palette, the label size and score filters, and every threshold on the signal engine are inputs — so it fits indices, FX, futures or crypto on any timeframe, from a scalping chart to a swing map.
💡 Cleanest setup: lock the build timeframe to the structure you trade — a few higher-timeframe levels for intraday, higher still for swing — raise the score filter until only the shelves that count remain, and let the magnets and the sweep signals do the pointing.
🎯 How To Trade It: Two Approaches
Everything comes down to one question: where is the nearest strong magnet, and is price being drawn to it or defending it?
⚡ 1) Trade toward the Magnet: price is pulled to liquidity
Use the hottest zone above and below — the magnets — as your targets.
▪️Read the record. A strong magnet below price is a pool of fuel the market tends to reach for; a strong magnet above is the same on the other side. Price sitting in clear air between two magnets tends to travel to the stronger one. The MAGNET ↑ / ↓ tags and the heat profile on the right show you which side is pulling harder.
Trigger: price leaving a zone in the direction of the stronger magnet, with structure aligned.
Target: the magnet itself; the thin space between zones tends to be crossed quickly.
Invalidation: a decisive close that accepts past the zone you left, against the magnet.
🧱 2) Trade the Sweep → Reclaim: the failed grab
Use this on a BUY or SELL signal.
▪️Read the record. You want a high-score zone that was swept — price spiked through to grab the liquidity — and then reclaimed, with the trend filter agreeing and room to the opposite magnet. A BUY off a swept ELITE bull zone, or a SELL off a swept ELITE bear zone, leans on both the failed grab and the shelf behind it.
Trigger: the confirmed BUY / SELL signal and its ticket.
Target: the opposite magnet, as the ticket draws it.
Stop: beyond the sweep's extreme, where the ticket places it.
Watch: price accepting further past the swept zone instead of reclaiming — the grab became a real break, and the ⚡ fades to show it.
✋ Stand down: when the map says wait
Price mid-range with no strong magnet nearby — there is nothing pulling and nothing to lean on.
A sweep with no reclaim and price still accepting away from the zone — that is a break, not a signal.
Zones that all score alike — the range is balanced, with no dominant magnet to trade toward.
Price inside a zone with no sweep in progress — wait for the grab and let the alert bring you in.
Rule of thumb: 🧲 Strong magnet on one side + clear air between → trade toward the magnet. ⚡ High-score zone swept + reclaimed + trend aligned → take the failed grab toward the opposite magnet. ❄️ No nearby magnet, balanced scores, no sweep → stand down until price reaches a level that means something.
▪️Honest measurement. This is a map of where liquidity rests and where imbalances were left, and where price stands relative to them — not a signal service and not a promise that any zone will hold. The strength scores are the historical density and quality of each zone over the window you build on, on this market, in the bars the indicator can see. They describe where the fuel is, not where price must go. Signals are recorded on confirmed closes, tickets are resolved stop-first and counted win or lose, and a live bar can still change until it closes. Zones cool and roll forward as the window moves; a magnet is only as current as the structure that built it.
