CHoCH Needs Follow-Through [EmpArchitect]

106
Structure Notes 2/5

A CHoCH tells me something happened.

Follow-through tells me whether it mattered.

In my own chart review, this is where many CHoCH-based reads became weaker than they first looked. The break printed. The label appeared. Structure seemed to shift. Then the next candles failed to extend in the direction of the break.

The structure changed on the chart. The market did not continue with it.

The chart above shows both versions on the same BTCUSDT 1h sequence.

In one area, CHoCH prints and price continues to progress in that direction. The break is not immediately reclaimed. The next candles support the idea that the shift actually mattered.

In the other area, CHoCH prints, but price does not extend. The break is quickly absorbed and the move fails to continue. The label printed. The market did not follow it.

Same chart. Same mechanical labels. Different follow-through.

I do not use a fixed candle count for this. Five candles can be enough in one context. Twenty can still be unclear in another. The question is not how many bars passed. The question is whether price continues to behave as if the structure shift mattered.

That is the part I used to skip.

The label would print, I would read the shift, and I would move on. But the useful information was usually in the candles after the break, not in the break itself.

The break asks the question. Follow-through answers it.
