Burger King India Names Sumit Zaveri As CEO – Business

Zaveri moves into the leadership role after serving as Chief Financial Officer at Burger King India, with previous finance leadership experience at Nature's Basket and Tata Starbucks

Restaurant Brands Asia (RBA), the operator of Burger King in India, has appointed Sumit Zaveri as Chief Executive Officer – Business for its Burger King India operations. The appointment was announced alongside the company's second-quarter financial results for FY27.

In his new role, Zaveri will report to Rajeev Varman, Whole-time Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Restaurant Brands Asia.

Moves From CFO Role To Business Leadership

Prior to his appointment, Zaveri served as Chief Financial Officer at Burger King India. His experience also includes finance leadership positions at Nature's Basket and Tata Starbucks.

He began his career as General Manager – Finance at The Indian Hotels Company.

Leadership Appointment Announced Alongside Q2 Results

Commenting on the company's performance, Madhusudan Agrawal, Chairman of Restaurant Brands Asia, said, “I am extremely pleased with these outstanding results. I am confident that our Group Chief Executive Officer will lead the Company to even greater heights.”

Zaveri's appointment places him at the helm of Burger King India's business, following his previous role overseeing the brand's financial function.
