01 — INTRODUCTION
What this indicator actually does

Imagine you walk into a car auction. There are hundreds of cars, and everybody has a price tag. But here's the thing — you can't tell just from the price tag which cars are actually worth buying. Some are overpriced. Some are bargains. The price alone doesn't tell you the story.

Now imagine someone hands you a report that shows: which cars got the most bids, who the serious buyers were, where the big money changed hands, and which cars nobody wanted. Suddenly you're not guessing anymore. You're reading the room.

That's what VP + Order Flow Edge does for financial markets. It takes all the hidden information buried inside price movement and volume — the stuff big professional traders use — and puts it right on your chart in plain sight.

THE CORE IDEA
Price tells you what happened. Volume tells you how much people cared. Together, they show you where the real money is sitting — and where it's going next.
This indicator works on 1-minute, 3-minute, and 5-minute charts and automatically adjusts its sensitivity for each timeframe. You don't need to change any settings when you switch charts — it figures it out by itself.

02 — THE FOUNDATION
Why price alone lies — the volume truth

Here's something most beginners don't know: big hedge funds and institutions can push price wherever they want, at least temporarily. They have enough money to shove it up or down to create a false impression — and they do it regularly.

But volume? Volume is much harder to fake. Volume is simply the number of transactions that happened. You can't manufacture real buyers and sellers out of thin air.

The three volume scenarios — the same price move means very different things depending on the volume behind it
The Three Scenarios You'll See Every Day

Scenario 1 — Healthy Move: Big candle, high volume. The move is real. Buyers or sellers participated in large numbers. The price is likely to keep going in that direction.

Scenario 2 — Absorption: Tiny candle, massive volume. This is the sneaky one. Buyers pushed hard (you can see it in the volume spike), but price barely moved. Why? Because there was an invisible wall — a large seller quietly soaking up every single buy order. The moment buyers run out of energy, price drops sharply. This is how smart money hides.

Scenario 3 — No Supply: Price drifts up on almost no volume. Not because buyers are strong — but because there are no sellers in the way. Price floats upward with zero resistance. This can reverse suddenly the moment a real seller shows up.

IMPORTANT — GREEN ≠ BUYING, RED ≠ SELLING
Every single trade needs a buyer AND a seller. The green or red color of a volume bar just matches the candle above it. What actually matters is the size of the bar — not its color.
03 — THE VOLUME PROFILE
The Volume Profile — seeing where money lives

The standard volume bars at the bottom of most charts answer the question: "When did a lot of trading happen?"

The Volume Profile answers a much more useful question: "At which exact price level did the most trading happen?"

Think of it like this. If you ran a restaurant and wanted to know where most of your customers sat, you wouldn't just count how many people came in each hour. You'd look at which tables got the most use. The Volume Profile shows you the "tables" where the market spent the most time doing business.

The Volume Profile — wider bars = more trading activity at that price. POC is where the market agreed most. LVNs are price levels almost nobody traded at.
The Three Things That Matter

POC — Point of Control
The yellow line. The single price where the most trading happened — the market's center of gravity. Price keeps coming back to this level because so many people have trades anchored here. Think of it as the market's "home base."
Value Area (VAH to VAL)
The teal shaded zone. Contains 70% of all trading activity — where buyers and sellers agreed that price was fair. When price is inside this zone, the market is calm and balanced. The edges (VAH and VAL) are where things get interesting.
LVN — Low Volume Nodes
The thin gray bars. Price levels where almost nobody traded. These are "fast lanes" — when price enters an LVN, it rips through quickly because there's no one there to slow it down. Great places to expect acceleration.
The Golden Rule: High volume = sticky prices (price lingers). Low volume = price rips. The market consolidates where people are. It flies where nobody is.
Profile Shapes — The Market's Story in One Shape

The overall shape of the profile tells you what kind of market you're in before you look at a single candle.

🅓
D-Shape — Balanced
Fat in the middle, thin at edges. Buyers and sellers are happy. Nobody has strong opinions. Play the edges — short from top, long from bottom, target the POC.
🅟
P-Shape — Bullish
Heavy volume at top. Buyers stepped in with conviction. Look for pullbacks to POC or the thin lower tail to go long. Day must close above 50% of range.
🅑
B-Shape — Bearish
Heavy volume at bottom. Sellers in control. Look for bounces into POC or thin upper tail to short. Day must close below 50% of range to be genuine.
⚡
Thin — Trending
Volume spread thin over wide range. Explosive trending move — nobody had time to build positions. Look for small volume clusters inside — those are your entry points on pullbacks.
04 — MARKET GENERATED LEVELS
Market Generated Levels — the fences nobody ignores

Beyond the volume profile, markets respect certain price levels that were created by previous trading activity. Think of them as fences that price has to deal with when it gets there. Big players have positions anchored to these levels, so when price returns to them, reactions are almost guaranteed.

LEVEL COLOR WHAT IT IS WHY IT MATTERS
PDH / PDL Orange Previous Day High & Low Every professional trader watches yesterday's extremes. Breakouts and rejections here cause big moves.
ONH / ONL Purple Overnight High & Low The range set while US markets were closed (9pm–9:29am ET). Breaking this range triggers stops and creates momentum.
ORB-H / ORB-L Teal Opening Range High & Low (first 30 min) A concept from the old trading pit days. Price tends to respect these all session long. Breaks of ORB often signal the day's direction.
HOW TO USE THESE LEVELS
These levels don't mean anything on their own — they become powerful when you see order flow reactions happening at them. A level + an absorption signal + a trapped buyer pattern = an A+ setup. That's exactly what the indicator looks for.
Historical Reaction Stats — Does This Level Actually Work?

Every level label includes a statistics badge showing how price has historically reacted at that exact level over the last 10 sessions. You can see at a glance whether a level is worth trading or not:

WKH [73% · 28pts · n=41] ← Weekly High: bounced 73% of 41 touches, avg 28pt move
MDAY-H [100% · 84pts · n=6] ← Monday High: bounced every single time
ONH [n<5] ← not enough data yet — treat as unproven
A level showing 70%+ bounce rate with a large average move is a high-conviction level worth prioritizing. A level below 50% is barely better than a coin flip — be selective.

Extended Key Levels

Beyond the standard daily levels, the indicator automatically calculates and draws a full set of weekly, monthly, Monday, 4H, VWAP, and premarket levels. Most are off by default to keep the chart clean — turn them on as you need them.

LEVEL DEFAULT WHY IT MATTERS FOR NQ
Weekly High / Low / Open ON Major institutional reference levels. NQ often rejects hard at weekly extremes, especially on Monday and Friday.
Monday High / Low / Mid ON The Monday range tends to define the week's directional bias. A break of Monday High mid-week is a bullish signal.
Today VWAP ON The volume-weighted average price — institutional fair value. Price trading above VWAP is bullish context; below is bearish.
4H High / Low / Open OFF Medium-term structure. Useful for understanding the 4-hour trend within the session.
Monthly High / Low / Open OFF The strongest long-term levels. Rarely tested intraday but extremely powerful when they are.
Premarket High / Low OFF The range set before RTH opens. Often acts as intraday support or resistance during the session.
05 — ORDER FLOW SIGNALS
Order Flow Signals — reading the big players

Order flow is the raw heartbeat of the market — the actual buy and sell orders hitting the market in real time. Most retail traders never see it. The VP + Order Flow Edge indicator watches for specific patterns that reveal when large players are active and where they're positioned.

▼
ABS↓ — Absorption (Bearish)
Green candle + massive volume + tiny body. Buyers pushed hard but went nowhere. A passive seller is absorbing every buy order. When buyers exhaust themselves, price drops sharply.
▲
ABS↑ — Absorption (Bullish)
Red candle + massive volume + tiny body. Sellers pushed hard but price barely moved. A passive buyer is absorbing all selling. When sellers give up, price launches upward.
✕
TRAP↓ — Trapped Buyers
Big green candle (lots of buyers got in), then the very next candle reverses hard below where they entered. Those buyers are now trapped — losing money and about to be forced out, pushing price even lower.
✕
TRAP↑ — Trapped Sellers
Big red candle (lots of sellers got in short), then the very next candle reverses above where they entered. Those sellers are trapped and getting squeezed higher, adding fuel to the move up.
▼
LAF↓ — Look Above & Fail
Price wicks above a resistance level (sucking in breakout buyers) then closes right back below it. Those breakout buyers are now trapped. A short setup — must occur near a key level.
▲
LBF↑ — Look Below & Fail
Price wicks below a support level (triggering stop-loss sells) then closes right back above it. The sellers who got triggered are now trapped. A long setup — must occur near a key level.
⚠
Bear Div — Bearish Divergence
Price makes a new high, but volume on that new high is significantly smaller than the previous high. The rocket is running out of fuel. Reversal warning.
✦
Bull Div — Bullish Divergence
Price makes a new low, but volume on that new low is smaller than the previous low. Sellers are exhausted — they're pushing but fewer and fewer are joining in. Bottom forming.
The Confluence Score — A+ Setups

Each signal on its own is useful. But when multiple signals align at the same level simultaneously, the probability of a successful trade increases dramatically. The indicator automatically scores each bar across four criteria:

# CRITERION WHAT IT MEANS
1 Near a Market Generated Level Price is at PDH/PDL, ONH/ONL, or ORB-H/L
2 Near a Volume Profile Level Price is at VAH, VAL, or POC
3 Absorption Signal Present ABS↑ or ABS↓ firing right now
4 Trap Signal Present TRAP↑ or TRAP↓ firing right now
When all four align simultaneously, a ★ A+ label appears. These are the highest-probability setups the indicator can identify. Treat them as priority trades.

VA Re-entry Rule (The Bonus Signal)

This one is special. When price has been outside the Value Area for at least 8 bars, then closes back inside it — the market is overwhelmingly likely to travel all the way across to the opposite edge.

A green circle (VA↑) means price came back in from below — target is VAH. A red circle (VA↓) means price came back in from above — target is VAL. It's a simple, objective, repeatable rule every session.

Momentum Reversal Detection — The Early Warning System

Beyond individual signals, the indicator runs a continuous exhaustion scoring system near key levels. When price is within 2 ATR of VAH, VAL, PDH, PDL, ONH, or ONL it monitors 7 conditions simultaneously. When 3 or more align, it fires a warning before the reversal fully develops.

The 7 conditions are: body shrinking, volume declining, first reversal candle, wick rejection, absorption signal, LAF/LBF signal, and trap signal. You'll see two outputs when exhaustion is confirmed:

✖
White X — Exhaustion Confirmed
Appears above or below the bar when 3 or more exhaustion conditions align at once near a key level. The move is running out of steam.
⚠
⚠ REV WARN — Reversal Warning
Orange label showing the score out of 7. A score of 5/7 means five separate exhaustion conditions fired at once — significantly more conviction than a 3/7. The higher the number, the stronger the warning.
THE EXTRA CONFIRMATION BAR
When a REV WARN fires near a pending entry, the indicator automatically requires one additional confirming bar before the entry fires. This prevents entering during the final spike that typically stops out early entries. The spike becomes your signal — not your stop.
06 — THE TWO TRADE MODELS
The Two Trade Models

Markets have two basic states: ranging (going sideways, stuck in a box) and trending (moving strongly in one direction). You need a different approach for each. Trying to trade a ranging market like a trending one, or vice versa, is how most people lose money.

The indicator automatically identifies which state you're in and tells you in the bottom-right table. Here's how to trade each one.

MODEL 1
Range Model — Fade the Extremes
When the profile is a D-shape and value is stable, the market is in a box. Price bounces back and forth between VAH and VAL like a ping-pong ball.
Wait for price to reach VAH or VAL — the edges of the value area
Look for an order flow signal confirming rejection (ABS, TRAP, or LAF/LBF)
Short from VAH, target the POC (midpoint), then VAL. Long from VAL, target POC, then VAH.
Move stop to break-even after first target hits. Never let a winning trade go red.
Avoid trading the middle — that's where you get chopped up
MODEL 2
Trend Model — Ride the Low Volume Nodes
When the profile is thin (P, B, or Thin shape) and value is migrating in one direction, the market is in a trend. You're not fading the move — you're joining it on pullbacks.
Identify the direction — is value migrating higher or lower? (See the Value Migration table top-right)
Wait for price to pull back into a Low Volume Node — the fast lanes in the profile
Watch for buyers (in an uptrend) or sellers (in a downtrend) getting aggressive at that LVN
Enter in the direction of the trend. Target the prior high/low, then trim there.
If a lower high forms in an uptrend with big trades present — exit immediately. The trend is likely ending.
Key insight: In a trending day, sellers who keep trying to short against the trend keep getting squeezed. Their forced buy-backs add more fuel to the upward move. That's why trends go further than most people expect — it's not just new buyers, it's trapped shorts getting liquidated.
07 — THE ENTRY ENGINE
Entry Engine — how trades are triggered

The indicator doesn't just show you where things might happen — it tells you exactly when to enter, where to put your stop, and what your target is, with the calculated reward-to-risk ratio right on the chart.

There are two types of entries, matching the two personalities described in the transcripts:

AGGRESSIVE ENTRY — SMALLER SIZE, FIRST SIGNAL
When you see the opportunity forming in real time and want to get in immediately. Higher risk of being wrong, but better price if you're right.

Price touches a key level (VAL, VAH, PDL, PDH, ONL, ONH, ORB)
An order flow signal fires on that same bar (absorption, trap, or look-above/below-fail)
The candle closes green for longs, red for shorts
Volume is above average
The EMA trend filter agrees with the trade direction
CONFIRMATION ENTRY — FULL SIZE, SECOND-BAR TRIGGER
Waiting for the market to prove itself before committing. Lower risk, slightly worse price. This is the higher-probability entry.

Price touches a key level and wicks through it slightly (the "look below/above")
But closes back on the right side of the level (the "fail")
The next bar also closes in the right direction with 1.2× average volume or an order flow signal
The EMA trend filter agrees
Entry fires — full size, two-bar pattern confirmed
What You See on the Chart

Every entry draws three things automatically:

ENTRY ZONE
▲ CONF LONG VAL 2.2R
E 29247 | SL 29198 | TP 29332
Entry · Stop · Target prices
Stop Loss
Target (TP)
SL: ATR-buffered below level
TP: opposite VA edge / nearest MGL
Every entry shows: a colored zone box around the level, a label with type + level name + R:R + exact prices, a dashed red stop line, and a dashed green target line extending 60 minutes to the right
THE R:R NUMBER
The number after the level name (e.g. "2.2R") is the Reward-to-Risk ratio. If your stop is 20 points away and your target is 44 points away, that's 2.2R. Only entries with a ratio of 1.8R or higher are shown — anything lower isn't worth taking.
Two-Step Take Profit System

Every entry now shows two targets, not one. This is the professional way to manage winners — you guarantee a profit on the first half, then let the second half run to a structural level.

READING THE UPDATED LABEL
▼ CONF SHORT VAH ★ 2R
E 29,320 | SL 29,369
TP1 29,247 (1.5R) → TP2 29,222 (2R)
TP1 at 1.5R (bright dashed line) — when price gets here, close half your position and move stop to breakeven. You now cannot lose on this trade.
TP2 at next structural level (dotted line) — let the remaining half run here. This is where the full move is captured on winning trades.
Third-Attempt Priority System ★

Every entry label now shows how many times price has tested that specific level today. The third test of a level has a significantly higher success rate than the first or second — the market has confirmed it is a meaningful price.

MARKER MEANING WHAT TO DO
★ Third or more test of this level today Highest priority — take full size with confidence
· Second test of this level today Elevated — good setup, normal size
no marker First test today Standard — consider reduced size or extra confirmation
Squeeze Entry — When the Market Reverses Hard

Sometimes a trade fires in one direction, and then price violently breaks through the level the other way — trapping everyone who entered. This is called a squeeze, and it creates one of the most powerful momentum setups in NQ.

When the indicator detects that a recent entry is being squeezed out, it fires a ▲ SQUEEZE LONG ★ or ▼ SQUEEZE SHORT ★ automatically. These are always marked with ★ because they represent self-reinforcing momentum — the trapped side's pain fuels your direction.

Reading the Value Migration Table

This tracks whether the POC (center of gravity) has been moving up or down. It requires two consecutive moves in the same direction before declaring a trend — so it doesn't flip on random noise.

▲ Value Higher — Buyers in Control: POC has moved up in two consecutive samples. Buyers are winning. Favor longs.
▼ Value Lower — Sellers in Control: POC has moved down in two consecutive samples. Sellers are winning. Favor shorts.
→ Value Stable — Balanced: POC hasn't moved consistently. The market is in equilibrium. Use Model 1.
VALUE MIGRATION GATES YOUR ENTRIES
This is not just a display — it actively filters trades. When "Value Lower" is active, long entries are suppressed everywhere except at extreme support levels (ONL, PDL). When "Value Higher" is active, short entries are suppressed except at extreme resistance (ONH, PDH). The indicator only fights the trend at levels with enough structural significance to justify it.
