MPLX is currently forming a tight consolidation structure after a strong prior uptrend.
The key level I am watching is the breakout trigger area above the recent range high. A clean daily close above this zone would confirm renewed buyer strength and could open the path back toward the previous supply area around 59–60.

Price is holding above the major invalidation level near 55.27.
The consolidation remains controlled.
Buyers continue to defend the prior breakout/support zone.
The structure is not broken yet.

Breakout confirmation: Daily close above the breakout trigger zone.
Invalidation: Loss of 55.27 area.

MPLX — Breakout ConfirmedThe consolidation highlighted in the July 3 analysis has now resolved higher.
Price broke above the trigger area with a strong daily close, while the key invalidation level at 55.27 remained intact throughout the setup.
The next area to watch is the previous supply zone around 59–60. With price already approaching that area, this is no longer about chasing the breakout. The focus now shifts to whether buyers can hold above the former resistance and how risk should be managed from here.

**MPLX — Trailing Stop Update #1**Trailing stop has been raised to **56.16** as the breakout continues to hold.
The position is now moving beyond the initial setup phase, so the priority shifts from finding an entry to managing the risk already on the table. The goal is not to protect every small fluctuation, but to reduce downside exposure while still giving the trend enough room to develop.
A good breakout gets us into the trade.
Consistent risk management determines how much of the move we keep.

**ATH Update — August 5, 2026**
MPLX has now extended above its breakout trigger and reached a new all-time high near $60.51.The move followed a clear sequence:
✓ Structure held above the invalidation level
✓ Breakout trigger was confirmed
✓ Risk was managed as the position developed
✓ Price expanded into new-high territory
The lesson is not simply to buy a stock because it is making new highs. The edge came from identifying the structure before the expansion—and then allowing the trend enough room to work.
A new high is not automatically a reason to exit. As long as the active trailing stop remains intact, the position continues to be managed through structure rather than prediction.
