Markets rarely move in a straight line, and gold is showing that clearly. After the heavy selloff toward the $4,050 area, buyers reacted aggressively and pushed price back up by more than $250 within just a few sessions.
What makes this recovery interesting is that it no longer looks like a short-lived technical bounce. Price has reclaimed the EMA34 and is now approaching the EMA89 around the $4,350 area, a zone that could decide whether this is only a rebound or the beginning of a new re-accumulation phase.
Rising volume during the recovery suggests that capital is starting to return after the panic phase. However, sellers still hold an advantage as the H4 lower-high structure has not been fully broken yet.
If XAUUSD successfully breaks through the $4,350–4,380 zone, the market could extend its recovery toward $4,450. On the other hand, rejection from this area would expose gold to the risk of retesting the $4,200 region.
