Sessions: Previous day, Asia, London, Current day : High/Low

# Riding the 9 — Session Levels
**Riding the 9 — Session Levels** is a custom TradingView indicator designed for Nasdaq futures traders who use price action, session highs and lows, and trend-following strategies to identify important areas of support, resistance, liquidity, and potential trade opportunities.
The indicator automatically tracks and displays eight key price levels across the previous futures trading day, Asian session, London session, and New York regular trading session.
## Key Features
**1. Previous Day High & Low (PDH / PDL) — Yellow**
Tracks the highest and lowest prices of the previous completed CME futures trading session.
These levels help traders identify important areas where price may encounter liquidity, support, or resistance.
**2. Asian Session High & Low (AH / AL) — Purple**
Tracks the Asian session beginning at the CME futures market reopening at 3:00 PM Pacific Time and ending when London opens at 8:00 AM London local time.
These levels help traders identify the overnight trading range and potential breakout or rejection areas.
**3. London Session High & Low (LH / LL) — Blue**
Tracks the London session beginning at 8:00 AM London local time and ending at the New York stock market opening at 6:30 AM Pacific Time.
The completed London range remains visible during the New York session.
**4. Current Day High & Low (CDH / CDL) — Green**
Tracks the New York regular trading session from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM Pacific Time.
Unlike indicators that calculate the current day's high and low across the entire futures trading day, these levels focus specifically on New York regular-session price action.
## Additional Features
- **Automatic session tracking:** Calculates highs and lows without requiring manual horizontal lines.
- **Daylight saving adjustments:** Uses named time zones to account for changes in London and U.S. daylight saving time.
- **Clean chart presentation:** Thin, dashed horizontal lines help reduce chart clutter.
- **Automatic level merging:** When multiple session levels share exactly the same price, the indicator combines them into a single line with a shared label.
- **Dynamic price tracking:** Session highs and lows update as new extremes form within their respective trading windows.
- **Bar Replay compatibility:** Designed to calculate levels using historical bars without intentionally referencing future price data.
- **Multiple timeframes:** Intended for 1-minute, 5-minute, and 15-minute intraday charts.
## How I Use This Indicator — Riding the 9 Strategy
I developed this indicator to complement my trend-continuation trading approach, which I call **Riding the 9**.
My trading process focuses on identifying directional momentum, waiting for price to retrace toward the 9-period exponential moving average (EMA), and looking for opportunities to participate in a continuation of the prevailing trend.
My chart setup includes:
- **9 EMA:** Short-term momentum and potential pullback entry area.
- **20 EMA:** Trend confirmation and additional dynamic support or resistance.
- **50 EMA:** Broader trend context.
- **Session highs and lows:** Key reference levels for price reactions, potential liquidity sweeps, breakouts, and reversals.
I primarily use the 15-minute chart for directional context, the 5-minute chart for trend structure and pullbacks, and the 1-minute chart for more precise entry evaluation.
The session levels provide additional context when deciding whether a potential trade has enough room to develop or is approaching an important price level.
## Markets and Timeframes
Designed primarily for:
- Nasdaq-100 E-mini Futures (NQ)
- Micro E-mini Nasdaq-100 Futures (MNQ)
- 1-minute, 5-minute, and 15-minute charts
The session definitions are based on CME equity-index futures trading hours and the London and New York market openings. Results on other markets or trading schedules may differ.
## Important Notes
This indicator is a market-structure and reference-level tool. It does not generate automatic buy or sell signals, predict price direction, or guarantee that any level will hold.
Session levels should be used alongside price action, risk management, and independent trading analysis.
