RSI Zone + Slope + Trend + Streak — Indicator Guide
This indicator is a multi-dimensional momentum analysis tool built around the Relative Strength Index, expanded across four independent models that are synthesized into a single confluence score. Rather than reading RSI as a simple overbought/oversold oscillator, this model classifies momentum into seven distinct zones — from Capitulation (below 20) through Parabolic (above 80) — each carrying a specific behavioral implication about the character of the move. A reading in the Strong Bullish zone (70–80) tells a different story than one that is merely in Bullish Bias (55–70), and the background shading, RSI line color, and status table all update in real time to reflect which regime the market is currently operating in.
The four ribbons at the bottom of the pane are the heart of the system. Each one answers a different question: the Slope ribbon tells you whether momentum is building or fading by measuring the 3-bar directional change of the RSI itself — a hook upward from oversold levels is a meaningfully different signal than a flat or rolling RSI at the same absolute level. The Trend ribbon captures the structural alignment of price relative to the 9 and 21-day EMAs, distinguishing between a healthy Bull Stack, a fully extended Power Trend, neutral chop, and bearish equivalents on the other side. The Streak ribbon counts consecutive up or down closes, flagging when a move has become statistically extended and either confirming trend persistence or warning of mean-reversion conditions. The Confluence ribbon synthesizes all three models plus the RSI zone into a single score from −7 to +7, turning green when the models are broadly aligned bullishly and red when they align bearishly. When all four ribbons are the same color, the market is sending a consistent message — that alignment, rather than any single reading, is the most actionable signal the indicator produces.
The status table in the corner gives you the live reading of every model on the current bar — RSI value and zone, slope delta and direction, trend structure, streak count, and the overall confluence score — so you never have to hunt across the chart to piece the picture together. The LAST field shows the most recent signal that fired, which is particularly useful on higher timeframes like the weekly where significant regime changes may have occurred several bars ago but remain contextually relevant. Use this indicator not as a trigger in isolation, but as a framework for understanding what kind of market environment you are operating in before you act.
