Wells Fargo Names Oper Chief Powell as Next Chief Risk Officer

Wells Fargo Bank is appointing Chief Operating Officer Scott Powell as its next chief risk officer.

Powell will succeed Derek Flowers, who is retiring from the bank in January, it said Wednesday.

The company said Powell's successor as operating chief will be appointed "in the near future."

Powell was appointed chief operating officer at the end of 2019. He previously served as chief executive of Santander Holdings USA and led the consumer banking and retail investments business at JPMorgan Chase, the company said.
