Oracle began its second round of layoffs this year last week, cutting 546 employees in its U.S. cloud infrastructure organization, according to a leaked document cited by Business Insider. According to ChainCatcher, the document said the layoffs covered about 7.6% of the 7,185 employees listed and were concentrated in manager, engineering, software development, and data center maintenance and services roles.

The document said the information was provided to comply with federal age discrimination laws. Oracle did not disclose the total number of layoffs last week and did not respond to a request for comment.

Oracle previously disclosed that its workforce fell by 21,000 in fiscal 2026, a 13% decline, leaving the company with 141,000 employees before the latest round of cuts. Its cloud infrastructure unit posted revenue growth of 121% year over year in the most recent quarter.

The document showed 57 layoffs in Software Developer III roles, with software development positions accounting for about 17% of the cuts. Data center support services lost 41 jobs, including the department's vice president and two senior directors.

Jobs with manager in the title accounted for 128 cuts, or about 23% of the total, including 61 project managers. Most affected employees were over 40, and about 16% were 60 or older. Oracle is increasing investment in AI data centers and expects related spending of $90 billion to $95 billion this year.
