Paraguayan authorities shut down two illegal crypto mining facilities in Alto Paraná Province within a week and seized 35 mining machines. According to Odaily, one site raided on September 17 was stealing electricity through a line without an installed meter, and 10 ASIC miners were confiscated; related fees and fines totaled about $30,000. Another operation on September 12 led to the seizure of 25 mining machines. Paraguay's lower house has also passed a resolution requiring the national power utility to submit a report on crypto mining electricity use, pricing, and regulation.
