Taiwan Jobless Rate Edges Lower in August

Taiwan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate eased slightly to 3.32% in August 2026 from 3.33% in the previous month.

The number of unemployed persons decreased by 1 thousand to 400 thousand, while employment rose by 2 thousand to 11.648 million.

The labor force participation rate was unchanged at 59.59%.

On a non-seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate edged up to 3.41% from 3.39% in July, with the number of unemployed rising by 2 thousand to 411 thousand.

Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate among those aged 15-24 increased to 11.74% from 11.71% in the previous month.
