Slovenia Jobless Rate Edges Up in July

Slovenia’s unemployment rate edged up to 4.4% in July 2026 from 4.3% in the previous month.

The number of unemployed people increased by 1,102 from the previous month to 43,257, while declining by 542 year-on-year.

Unemployment among those aged over 55 accounted for the largest share of unemployment (24.2%), followed by those aged 40–49 (23.9%) and those aged 30–39 (21.4%).

Meanwhile, the share of unemployed people with tertiary education rose to 19.3% from 18.5% in the previous month, while first-time jobseekers accounted for 16.6%, down from 17.7%.

The share of those unemployed for more than a year eased to 37.9% from 38.7% in June, while the share of those unemployed for more than two years also moderated to 20.9% from 21.6%.
