What is Reported EPS?

Reported EPS - is the earnings per share collected directly from a company's press release. In some cases the value is a broker actual: the figure is calculated from the company's reported financials using brokers' methodology and is shown in the same Reported field.

How is Reported EPS different from other EPS metrics?

It may differ from Standardized because of the methodology used by analysts. While GAAP EPS follows standardized accounting rules, reported EPS is based on the company’s original disclosure. It may include non-standard items or adjustments specific to the company, making it less comparable but more reflective of management's chosen presentation.

Why is Reported EPS important?

Reported EPS gives investors direct insight into the company’s view of its performance. It’s useful for understanding management’s focus but should be analyzed alongside standardized metrics like GAAP EPS for a complete picture.
