TradingView layouts: a quick guide
A chart layout is your saved workspace on Supercharts. It remembers everything: the symbol, interval, chart type, indicators, drawings, colors, and settings. Create different layouts for different tasks, for example one for analysis and one for trading, and switch between them whenever you need.
CONTENTS:
- Create a layout
- Manage your layouts

- Multiple charts in one layout
- Drawings and sync
Create a layout
- Click Manage layouts in the top toolbar.
- Click Create new layout and give it a name.
- Set up the chart the way you like and save it.
Your new layout now appears in the Manage layouts menu.
Manage your layouts
The Manage layouts menu lets you:
- Save your changes. You can also press Ctrl+S (Windows) or Cmd+S (macOS).
- Turn on Autosave so you never lose your work.
- Copy link to share your chart. Others can see it, but only you can change it. This option appears when sharing is on.
- Make a copy to start a new layout based on the current one.
- Export chart data as a CSV file.
- Open layout to see all your layouts, not just the recent ones.
When you change a symbol in a layout, it keeps your indicators and style.
Example: a layout for analysis
- Pick a chart type: Line charts give a quick overview, while candlesticks help you find entry and exit points.
- Choose a scale: Click the gear icon at the bottom of the chart. A regular scale shows equal price changes. A logarithmic scale shows equal percentage changes. Use the same scale for both analysis and trading.
- Style the chart: In chart settings, open Canvas to change the background, text size, and more. Use Scales and lines and Status line to choose what info to show.
- Turn off Trading features to keep the chart clean.
- Show events: In Events, turn on earnings, splits, and dividends. In Symbol, you can adjust data for dividends.
- Add the finishing touches: An interval, indicators, and community Ideas on the chart.
Example: a layout for trading
Make a copy of your analysis layout and change its colors. Then turn on the Trading features, like buy and sell buttons and notifications. And connect your broker to trade right from the chart. New to trading? Create one more layout for risk-free practice with Paper Trading.
Multiple charts in one layout
Open Layout setup in the top toolbar to show several charts at once. New charts get the indicators from the first chart, but not its chart settings. In the same menu, you can sync the symbol, interval, crosshair, and more across all charts.
Drawings and sync
Drawings belong to a symbol. If you draw on TSLA and switch to NVDA, the drawings disappear. Switch back to TSLA, and they come back.
To see the same drawings on other charts, use the sync button on the left drawing toolbar:
- Sync drawings in layout: drawings appear on every chart with the same symbol in this layout.
- Sync drawings globally: drawings appear on charts with the same symbol in all your layouts, including new ones.
When sync is off, drawings stay only on the chart where you made them. Be careful: if you turn off global sync, the drawings for that symbol are removed from your other layouts.
