Vendor Requirements
If you offer access to public or private invite-only scripts or other exclusive script-related content or services, we consider you a vendor and expect you to meet the requirements on this page, in addition to the General House Rules that apply to everyone on TradingView, and the Script Publishing Rules that apply to all script authors.
You are a vendor and must adhere to our Vendor Requirements if any of the following apply:
- You independently offer access to invite-only scripts
- You participate in our Creator Program for script authors (Paid Spaces)
- You are a freelancer providing paid coding services
- You offer other script-related services to users
TradingView is dedicated to helping our worldwide community share the love of finance and trading. We believe that responsible, trustworthy script vendors can add value to our platform by providing quality tools and services to traders who choose to rely on more experienced professionals. We therefore welcome vendors who uphold ethical business standards, provide meaningful and helpful content or services, aim to build unique and useful trading tools for our community, and respect all House Rules. These are the key principles underlying our Vendor Requirements.
If you can meet these requirements, we welcome you to offer your scripts and services to our community.

Business practice requirements
We expect you to maintain professional and ethical business practices when offering access to invite-only scripts or other types of content or services. Do not use wrongful or deceptive practices of any kind in your interactions or content, whether on TradingView or elsewhere. Participating in wrongful activities intended to scam, defraud, mislead, or otherwise harm our community puts you on the fast track to a permanent ban from all social features on TradingView, including managing access to your invite-only scripts or hosting a Paid Space.
General content requirements
We expect vendors to build their reputation by providing useful content, not by abusing publishing features or spamming our community to promote their business. Any content that you publish as a vendor, whether in the form of scripts, ideas, videos, comments, updates, or other content, should be aimed toward providing clear value to traders.
► Publish meaningful content.
Your content as a whole should provide actionable information, helpful tools, or valid analysis for traders. Do not publish teaser-style content, limited-time offers, or content that is nothing more than a disguised attempt to display your wares or gain attention. If you want to publish content that demonstrates your invite-only or Paid Space scripts outside your main script publications, you can create a "How-to" idea or video for that purpose. See the section about "How-to" content below to learn more.
► Don't abuse content to market your wares.
Don't spam or solicit through chat messages, comments, publications, or other content to drive traffic to your products or services. Likewise, do not spam our community by granting invite-only script access to any users who did not explicitly request it. Spamming and solicitation are both serious violations of our House Rules that can result in lengthy or permanent bans.
► Be realistic.
Keep your language real in your interactions with users. Do not use misleading language of any kind, whether intentional or not, especially when discussing the behavior or performance of your script or trading methodology. Any script or trading approach has limitations, backtests can be biased, and the future is inherently uncertain. Be aware of these facts and avoid misinforming or misleading your fellow traders in your content. As per our business practice requirements, intentionally misleading traders puts you on the fast track to a permanent ban.
Private publications
As stated in our Script Publishing Rules, private scripts are for private use only. Scripts published privately are not for sharing your content with the community. Therefore, our script moderators do not analyze your private scripts, as long as you keep them private. If you share private scripts publicly in any way, such as by referencing them in other TradingView content or advertising them on your website, they are considered public and subject to moderation.
As a vendor, ensure you understand and follow these additional rules when you publish scripts privately.
► Do not sell access to private scripts.
Private publications are not tools for selling access to scripts. They are exclusively for private use and are not reviewed by our moderators. If you want to sell access to a script, create a public invite-only publication for that purpose. If you attempt to circumvent moderation and sell access to a private script of any kind, you face the risk of a permanent ban.
► Respect private script access limits.
A maximum of five users can access invite-only scripts that you publish privately, because such scripts are not for community use. Do not attempt to bypass this access limit by creating multiple versions of your private publication. If you want more than five users to access your invite-only script, publish it publicly.
► Use private content responsibly.
Private publications are not exempt from our business practice requirements. Your account may be swiftly and permanently banned if you purposefully use private publications to share harmful, misleading, or other non-compliant content with your customers.
Public invite-only and Paid Space scripts
A script published with the "Invite-only" setting has closed-source code, and only users whom you grant access can add it to their charts and use its features. You can publish invite-only scripts and manage their access only if you have a Premium or Ultimate account. Other account types can publish only open-source and protected scripts.
Paid Space scripts are special invite-only scripts that you can offer as a subscription if you are part of our Creator Program. When users subscribe to your Paid Space, they automatically receive access to all the scripts you included in that space. By contrast, for typical invite-only publications, you manually grant access to users who request it by using the "Manage access" dialog box.
Public invite-only scripts and Paid Space scripts are the only types of published scripts for which you can require compensation in exchange for access. As stated in our Script Publishing Rules, open-source and protected scripts are always free. You cannot restrict access to them or expect payment. Furthermore, as stated above in our requirements for private content, selling access to private scripts is not allowed.
When you publish scripts with restricted access, you must meet the following requirements, in addition to those in our Script Publishing Rules. Failing to meet most of these requirements will result in your publication being hidden from our community. Depending on the severity of the violations, you may also be banned from our social features.
► Grant script access only to users who ask for it.
Use the "Manage access" menu of your invite-only publication to grant script access only to users who explicitly request access. Do not abuse this feature by whitelisting users who did not request access. Additionally, if a user asks you to remove them from your script's access list, respect their request and remove them immediately.
► Don't promote your business in your script publications.
Do not use your script's description, release notes, chart, or other content to promote your company, brand, group, products, results, or other such details. Likewise, do not use this content to solicit traders to follow you, visit your profile, or boost and comment on your publications. You can mention your company or brand name in your title or description if you wish, but do so sparingly; one or two mentions throughout the publication should suffice. If you want to share more details relating to your business, include that information in your profile's "Signature" field, not your publications.
► Don't advertise your wares in other content.
Public content on TradingView is not intended for advertising your products and services. Do not use other script publications, ideas, videos, comments, tags, or other public content to draw attention to invite-only or Paid Space scripts. The only exceptions to this rule are:
- Paid scripts that belong to the same package. If you publish an invite-only or Paid Space script and mention or demonstrate other scripts from the same package in your publication, clarify in the description that you offer those scripts together without requiring separate purchases or subscriptions. Note that referencing invite-only or Paid Space scripts in open-source or protected script publications is not allowed.
- "How-to" ideas and videos, which are intended to provide additional details about your invite-only or Paid Space script's functionality and how to use it. See the section about "How-to" content below to learn more.
► Don't discuss prices in your main content.
Your publication's description, release notes, chart, and comments are not the places to discuss or advertise the prices of your invite-only or Paid Space scripts or other services. You can mention pricing in the "Author's instructions" field of an invite-only script or in the "Signature" field of your profile. Advertising prices in other locations is not allowed.
► Do not publish misleading scripts.
Be realistic and honest in your script publications, paid or not. Your subscribers trust you to share useful tools that benefit their analysis. Do not erode that trust by creating publications with misleading explanations, visuals, or behaviors:
- Avoid any unrealistic or unsubstantiated claims or guarantees about your script's performance, whether on TradingView or elsewhere.
- Do not misrepresent your script's behaviors or limitations in descriptions, comments, or external content.
- Don't use extra visuals on your chart or in snapshots to misrepresent your script's functionality.
- Don't misuse non-standard charts to make your script's historical results appear better than they actually are on real-world market data.
- Don't abuse `request.*()` functions or other features to leak future data into past bars.
- If you publish a strategy script, ensure that the script's behaviors and results are reasonably realistic. Additionally, ensure that the description explains the properties, inputs, and chart settings that you used to generate the published strategy report.
► Include clear access instructions.
The Author's instructions field of your invite-only script is where you write instructions to users who want to request access. The instructions appear below your published chart or strategy report on the script page. We expect you to use this field, and not other publication content, to provide clear script access instructions:
- Instruct users to contact you privately, or include a link to your webpage where users can request access. Don't instruct users to comment on your script to request access.
- If you want to provide access instructions in multiple languages, list English instructions above the other translations.
- Do not paste script descriptions or other filler text in this field.
- You can mention the price of your script in this field, provided you also include clear instructions for requesting access.
- You can include links to complementary content that is specific to your script. Do not abuse this provision by sharing unrelated, misleading, or harmful content.
- Don't reference your "Author's instructions" field or list access instructions in your description or other parts of your publication.
► Strive for originality and value to traders.
Invite-only and Paid Space scripts are for sharing your exclusive Pine creations with your subscribers, not for rehashing or combining tools that are freely available elsewhere. Your script should provide clear value to traders and original, useful functionality. Likewise, your description should clearly and honestly explain the script's distinct features and behaviors to help users understand why you limited access to subscribers only. Stating only that your script is proprietary without explaining its distinct qualities does not build trust in your product or help users understand its value.
► Don't publish script versions as suites.
Publishing multiple variants of your invite-only script separately for use on specific markets or timeframes is not allowed. If you want to provide optimized presets for specific markets and timeframes, make those presets available in a single published version. If your script must be used with only specific markets or timeframes due to technical limitations, justify the reasons clearly in your description.
► Respect our code reuse and plagiarism rules.
Open-source scripts exist on TradingView to benefit our community, not harmful vendors who aim to copy and resell code in closed-source publications. Accordingly, the consequences for violating our House Rules on open-source reuse and plagiarism are more severe for invite-only and Paid Space scripts. To avoid issues and reuse code in your paid scripts properly:
- Ask the original authors for explicit permission to reuse their code in a paid script. If you can't obtain permission to reuse their code in your vendor projects, don't reuse it.
- If you reuse code with explicit permission, credit the original authors and make it clear that you have permission to reuse their code in your description.
- Ensure that you can prove you have permission to reuse code in your script if our moderators ask for proof.
- If the reused code is considered public domain, permission is not required. However, it is still a best practice to attribute the source in your description. See our Script Publishing Rules on reusing code to learn about public domain exceptions.
Signatures
Premium and Ultimate plans include a special Signature profile field. The signature you specify in this field appears below the link to your profile on your script and idea publications.
Unlike other public content on TradingView, your signature can contain links to social media and other websites, contact details, announcements, and other information that you can't include elsewhere. When you add a signature to your profile, you must respect the following requirements:
► Don't share harmful content in your signature.
Your signature is not the place to bypass our rules by sharing content that is inappropriate, misleading, or harmful to users in our community. Uphold professional business standards everywhere, including in your signature.
► Don't reference your signature in other public content.
Because your signature can include information that is not permitted elsewhere, you are not allowed to reference it in your publication descriptions, release notes, comments, or any other public content.
"How-to" content
You can create complementary "How-to" ideas and videos to demonstrate the functionality of your invite-only or Paid Space scripts and how to use them. These are the only non-script publications where you can discuss and link to your invite-only and Paid Space scripts.
The following rules govern the use of "How-to" publications:
- You can publish up to 10 "How-to" publications per year for each of your scripts. Plan your updates carefully to avoid exceeding this limit.
- The title of "How-to" publications must begin with "HOW-TO:" in all capital letters.
- Only public ideas and videos are allowed as "How-to" publications. Don't use scripts or private publications of any kind for this purpose.
- Provide clear, actionable information for traders in all of your "How-to" publications. Don't use these publications to outright advertise your products and services or share meaningless spam content. Likewise, do not use them to solicit users to boost and comment on your publications, or to follow or message you.
- You can include post-factum analysis of your trading signals and script behaviors in "How-to" ideas, unlike other publications. However, keep your language and presentation real. Substantiate any statements you make about your script's performance and behaviors. Do not imply that your script's past results indicate the future or make any other statements that mislead traders. Likewise, do not abuse your chart to misrepresent your script's functionality or performance.
- Do not delegate to "How-to" publications to explain all the key information about your invite-only or Paid Space script. The description in your script publication must still explain what your script does, how it works, how to use it, and why it's original, as well as any key details about its limitations and shortcomings. The information in your "How-to" publication should supplement your script's main description, not replace it.
Vendors and script moderation
If you fail to meet our Vendor Requirements or follow our General House Rules and Script Publishing Rules, you will find it difficult to share your content with our community, because our moderators will not approve it for our community feeds. If your violations are severe or unacceptable, your content will also be hidden altogether, and you may be banned from our social features.
During a ban, you can't grant users access to your scripts, message users in chats, comment on publications, or use any other social features. Only the non-social features of your plan remain available to you while you are banned.
If your account or content is moderated, you may receive a notification from our moderators outlining the detected issues. Read any information you receive from our moderators carefully; do not ignore it. Aim to learn from and prevent those issues in your future actions and content. If you did not receive a notification about a moderated publication or have questions about a moderation event, send a direct message to the PineCoders moderator account. Our script moderators will be happy to help you.
Ensure that you respect our moderators and conduct yourself professionally in all your vendor activities. Do not publicly or privately argue against our rules or moderation in attempts to justify your violations. Likewise, do not ignore or try to work around our requirements in your content. We appreciate the creativity of vendors in the design of products and services, but using that same creativity to sidestep our rules will cause you much more trouble than any gains you hope to achieve in doing so.
As a vendor, you should take violations of our rules seriously, especially because you expect users to trust and, in most cases, pay for your products and services. We tolerate only a finite number of repeated events. With each successive violation, your ban duration will typically increase significantly. Once you have accumulated enough serious violations, your account will be permanently banned, meaning that you will permanently lose all ability to engage in vendor activities on TradingView. Violations that we consider exceptionally severe can also result in an immediate permanent ban.
We acknowledge that our requirements and expectations for vendors are necessarily stricter than those for other authors. However, we believe these requirements are reasonable and well worth the ability to provide your scripts and services to millions of potential customers on TradingView. Any serious vendor who aims to bring genuine value and benefit to our community should have no problem meeting these requirements. If this is a problem for you, then you should avoid selling your wares on TradingView.
If you can respect these requirements and conduct your business responsibly, then welcome to the TradingView community!
