US rally, Australia lagging: does the ASX catch up?What happened during the Australian session when the S&P 500 had gained at least 90 points on the prior day, while Australian overnight futures dislocation was no greater than 50 points?
Both conditions apply together, with no weekday filter:
• S&P500 (DAY PRIOR) >= 90 points
• AUS200 OVERNIGHT FUTURES DISLOCATION (PRE) <= 50 points
There are 18 completed historical cases. The average ASX session finished 16 points above its 10am reference. Nine of the 18 reached at least 40 points above that

9100 In Sight for ASX 200 Bulls?While prices have effectively been flat this week, there are subtle clues that bullish setups may be building. Thursday’s bullish candle was accompanied by the highest volume in a month, while the daily increase in open interest was also unusually strong. Both point to solid demand for SPI 200 futures around the 50-day averages.
The 4-hour chart shows a bullish pinbar marking a higher low around 8960. As long as prices hold above that level, my bias is for a break above 9060 and a move towards
AUS200: late sell-off into RBA Tuesday, five historical casesQuestion: after a late sell-off into an RBA Tuesday, what does the ASX session (10am open to 4pm close) do?
Conditions (both apply): AUS200 LATE MOVE (PRIOR DAY) = SHORT (the prior day's 14:30-16:00 Sydney swing-reversal legs, carried forward as context), and AUS200 EVENTS = RBA TUESDAY.
Results: five completed sessions since 2022 (today also matches; its outcome is not known yet). ASX-session moves from the 10am open to the 4pm close: +32, -113, +123, +32, +58 points. Four of the five finishe
AUS200: can a weak first 15 minutes recover?With an overnight AUS200 futures dislocation of -80 points or worse and a prior-day AUS200 first hour of -15 points or worse, what did the next ASX session do?
The setup matched 15 dates. One date (29 November 2021) has no first-15-minute value, so the comparable outcome sample is 14:
• First 15 minutes (10:00–10:15 close vs 10am): 13/14 negative; mean -15.14 points.
• First hour (11am vs 10am): 10/14 negative; mean -18.79 points.
• ASX session (4pm vs 10am): 7/14 positive and 7/14 negative; me

AU200 did not get one story today, it got several, and they do not all point the same way. Weighed against each other — new against old, and tracking which ones have already faded:

ASX 200 Headed for 8400?The ASX 200 has just suffered its worst week in six months, thanks to renewed bets on RBA and Fed hikes amid soaring oil prices and bond yields. We are only halfway through the month, yet it already seems likely the ASX will snap its five-month winning streak. Signs of a reversal were there, given August’s shooting star marked a failed attempt to hold above the prior record high.
Interestingly, the ASX is narrowly lower over the past 12 months despite a particularly volatile period. The fact we

ASX 200 — The Great Aussie Pie CorrectionASX 200 MAP
Short zone: ~9200
TP1: ~8800
If price bounces, I’m looking for a reload toward ~9450.
Then the larger map is:
8800 → 8600 → 8100
At 8100, reassess.
Monthly momentum has started to roll over, but weekly still has enough strength for one more push higher first. That’s why I’m allowing for the bounce/reload before the deeper correction.
No crystal ball — just the map.
Let’s see how the pie cooks. 🥧😄

Title: Australia 200 — Bearish Extension SetupAustralia 200 is currently maintaining a strong bearish structure, with recent price action confirming significant selling pressure across the market. The sharp decline reflects weakening buying interest and stronger participation from sellers, keeping the broader outlook tilted toward the downside.
From a fundamental perspective, the market remains sensitive to expectations around Australian economic growth, interest-rate policy, inflation, employment conditions, commodity demand, and broader
Australia 200 | Short-Term Rise Before a Strong Bearish MoveAustralia 200 may extend slightly higher before shifting lower. The current price structure suggests the upside move could be limited, with the broader expectation favoring a strong decline afterward. The overall outlook remains bearish as sellers are expected to take control of the next leg.

FX:EURUSD : Very straight forward on this pair as we can see the deliberate 123 structure that has formed into a small 15M hook point. The DXY is positioned at a low where it could hold and go long, meaning EU short. The last leg does have a 123 finishing move into the high, so we have to be aware this could break out higher on the 15M and break back in, giving us a nice 1H risk entry short. If not and price breaks out, potentially a flip on the cards for a long to fill the
ASX 200 Rally Hits a WallThe ASX 200 has seen nothing but one-way traffic since hitting record highs, with deteriorating technicals compounded by disappointing results from Australia’s big banks and, today, a very soft earnings report from prominent retailer JB Hi-Fi.
That latter result is potentially important given what it may be telling us about cyclical parts of the economy, coming in the wake of accelerated nationwide falls in house prices, unpopular budget changes and earlier rate increases from the RBA.

Australia 200 — ATH Extension Before Bearish ReversalAustralia 200 is currently trading around its All-Time High, where price may push slightly higher before facing strong selling pressure. The expectation is for a final upside extension followed by a bearish reversal from the higher zone.
Rather than chasing the upside at ATH, the focus remains on waiting for the reversal and confirmation before targeting the downside. If the bearish structure develops as expected, Australia 200 could enter a broader corrective move.

ASX Retreats From highs, But Trend Remains FirmsI began the day wondering if the ASX could be on the cusp of a bullish breakout from a flag. While that thesis being tested right now, I still see the potential for it to break to new highs in the coming weeks - given the strength if the rally that led thew ASX into its recent record high.

Australia 200 Eyes Buy-Side ExpansionAustralia 200 is holding near an important support zone after recent selling. If buyers remain active, the market could move higher and target buy-side liquidity.
A weaker US Dollar and better market sentiment may also support the next bullish move. Wait for confirmation before entering and always manage your risk.
