I've been using the Interactive Brokers integration in TradingView, and the experience has been deeply disappointing. If you're considering connecting IBKR to TradingView, be warned: the integration is plagued with serious reliability issues that can cost you real money. Stop-losses that don't work. On several occasions, my stop-loss orders for long buy positions were completely ignored. The price blew right past my stop level without triggering, leaving me exposed to losses I had explicitly tried to prevent. A stop-loss that doesn't stop losses is worse than useless — it's dangerous. Edits to stop-loss levels get rejected. Many times I've edited my stop-loss levels only to have the broker ignore the change, throwing the warning: "Stop loss order disallowed after triggered" — even though the order was clearly still active. The order state shown in TradingView and the order state at IBKR frequently seem out of sync, and there's no reliable way to know which one is accurate. Constant maintenance warnings. The broker constantly warns that it's in maintenance mode, and I'm supposed to "be careful." If a platform needs a permanent disclaimer about its own reliability, that tells you everything about its stability. One login, one tab — and that's it. Worst of all: I can only be logged in to one TradingView tab, the Interactive Brokers webpage, or the phone app at a time. The moment I open another tab or check the mobile app, my session gets kicked. This is completely useless for anyone who needs to monitor positions across multiple screens or devices. Every other broker manages simultaneous sessions without issue — IBKR's session handling feels like it's stuck in 2005. Bottom line: The TradingView–Interactive Brokers integration is buggy, unreliable, and actively hostile to how real traders work. Until the stop-loss handling is fixed, the order sync issues are resolved, and multi-session support is added, I cannot recommend this integration to anyone.
The best broker for serious traders, after getting familiar with the UI, which is not very user friendly and can certainly get polished, you have everything you need for trading.
connection to TV is awful and the stock restrictions are constant.
I dont like that I can not modify, view take profit and stopp loss in my positions

Thank you for sharing your feedback, we are glad to see your rating reflects an overall positive experience with the platform. You can adjust supported take profit/stop loss (TP/SL) brackets directly on the chart by dragging them to the desired price level. TradingView does not support adding position brackets after the parent order is executed. For more specific guidance on viewing or modifying TP/SL orders please submit a support ticket with TradingView: tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000648248-how-to-get-in-touch-with-the-support-team/

I use their data and paper trade on trading view and I am very happy with the no lag and extended trading hours.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience using IBKR data and paper trading on TradingView. We are glad to hear that you are pleased with the connectivity and the extended trading hours.

Logging in and out is painful and high margin requirements

Thank you for sharing your experience and detailing your concerns regarding the login and logout process, as well as the margin requirements you have found to be high. Margin requirements are determined by factors including product type and rules of the exchange on which the product is listed. For more information on methodology for the calculation of margin requirements, please see our FAQ page: interactivebrokers.com/faq?id=1163246142

not a good interface with Trading View

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the interface experience with TradingView. Without additional detail on the specific issue encountered, such as order execution, charting, or connectivity, it is difficult to identify the exact circumstance to address. Please submit a support ticket with TradingView (tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000648248-how-to-get-in-touch-with-the-support-team/) referencing this review, including the specific feature or function involved, so the team can investigate further.

Its an awful broker, you need permissions to do literally anything and those permissions take long quizzes and ages for you guys to get back to me . You can't short or use leverage . They don't let you do anything if you don't have any experience or millions lying in your account.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and detailing your frustration with the trading permission process as well as the restrictions on shorting and leverage you encountered. Trading permissions for products involving leverage or short selling are set for risk management purposes. We are unable to confirm specific details regarding your account permissions here. We recommend submitting a webticket with Client Services so the status of your permission request can be reviewed further: interactivebrokers.com/en/support/customer-service.php?p=contact

i do not like the way it interacts with tradingview, the stop and limit orders only trigger about 28% of the time, there is a lag about 30% of the time when placing orders which i thought was only when markets are busy but it is random. I have an 8gig internet connection with a trading computer dedicated to its own dedicated vlan and i also trade 2 other brokers and the speed and accurancy of the other 2 brokers are spot on and the stops execute flawlessly

Thank you for the detailed technical breakdown of the TradingView integration issues, specifically the limited stop and limit order execution and lag occuring with order placement. Please submit a support ticket with TradingView (tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000648248-how-to-get-in-touch-with-the-support-team/) referencing this review, including the specific order types, symbols, and approximate times affected, so the team can investigate the execution and routing logs directly.

I like the features of interactive brokers. What I do not like is the connectivity. There's far too often where I lose connection. I do like the the low fees And the customer service.

Thank you for the positive feedback regarding the features, low fees, and customer service you have experienced. Connectivity issues can stem from several factors, including network configuration, session timeouts, or platform-specific settings. Please submit a support ticket with TradingView (tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000648248-how-to-get-in-touch-with-the-support-team/) referencing this review, including the approximate times these disconnections occur, so the team can investigate the logs.

Great broker with some annoying flaws. First I want to say I appreciate the best margin pricing in the business and the money market rates on idle cash. Second, are the amount of markets that you can trade. Now to the annoying stuff, I can only have one account open on one device at a time, which means you can't logged in. Next, is the fact that you cannot professionally trade with their dashboard/broker platform, it is a joke. That being said, I signed up for trading view and most of the issues have been solved.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. We are glad to hear that you appreciate the margin pricing and the variety of markets available to trade. Regarding the single-session login restriction that prevents simultaneous access across devices, this is a security design built into the platform. Concerns about the native dashboard's professional trading capabilities can vary depending on which specific tools or workflows are being compared. Since you have noted that TradingView has resolved most of these issues please continue to use the integration. If you would like asistance with the IBKR interface, we recommend submitting a webticket detailing any remaining concerns with the platform. Great broker, not so great TradingView integration. I have yet to have a full day where I haven't been disconnected from the broker. This is not hate towards TradingView, because I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes. Maybe the IB API is a nightmare, not because TradingView dropped the ball. I simply don't know.

Thank you for sharing your experience and flagging the recurring disconnections between TradingView and IBKR. Connection stability issues can stem from several factors, including session timeouts or network configuration. Please submit a support ticket with TradingView (tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000648248-how-to-get-in-touch-with-the-support-team/) referencing this review, including the approximate times these disconnections occur, so the team can investigate the logs.

the connection between tradingview and ibkr is terrible. delayed level 2 data, constant crashes, disconnections, etc.. If I hadn't paid for tradingview for this connector, I would never sign up.
functional layouts, covers all the types of trades needed

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to hear that the platform's layout and range of trade types have met your needs.

The IBKR integration with TradingView works reasonably well during regular market hours, but there are a couple of frustrating issues. I am usually able to place and execute buy orders during pre-market, but sell orders do not seem to work properly under the same conditions. This becomes a serious problem when trying to close or manage an existing position outside regular trading hours. The connection also logs out very frequently, which makes the integration unreliable and forces me to reconnect more often than expected. Since pre-market buying is supported, sell orders should work consistently as well, and the connection should remain stable for longer sessions. I hope TradingView and IBKR can improve both the extended-hours order handling and connection stability.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Issues with connectivity, unreliable integration, and failing sell order execution can be frustrating and disrupt the trading experience. The discrepancy between working pre-market buy orders and failing sell orders may relate to how extended-hours permissions are applied, and the frequent logouts could point to a session timeout setting. its pretty fast, but its a shame that I cant edit SL or TP in TradingView

Thank you for the positive note on speed. We are glad to see your rating reflects an overall positive experience. The exact steps to manually edit stop loss and take profit orders may depend on your account configuration. Please submit a ticket with TradingView support, referencing this review, so the team can confirm the precise editing steps for your setup: tradingview.com/support/solutions/43000648248-how-to-get-in-touch-with-the-support-team/

Two stop-losses today were rejected with no reason, so no more confidence in application. I had to close my position manually at worse price.

Thank you for detailing the issue with your stop-loss orders being rejected. Order rejections can occur for several reasons, including margin requirements, order size, or contract-specific restrictions, so reviewing the specific order details will help clarify what occurred. We recommend submitting a webticket with your concerns so this can be reviewed further. Impossible to get approval for any style trading besides cash trades
Connection interruptions, advertising FX but not offering it, stop orders getting triggered as limit orders.

Thank you for the detailed feedback. The connection interruptions, limited FX availability, and stop orders not filling as intended are each worth addressing. TradingView does not currently support FX trading through IBKR. No deposit or withdrawal via debit card which is huge for me because its quick and reliable, but not with IBKR. Constantly having to login after closing the mobile app and not being able to use the mobile app and desktop simultaneously is super aggravating. I cant find any overnight charting at all, orders disappearing randomly mostly trailing stops and stoplosses. Deposits take to long to become available for trading (ACH) even hough its been deducted from my bank account and then the holding time before being able to withdrawal is way to extensive (ACH). Mobile app always says I'm not connected to data, cant find a depth chart, order flow, order price ladder, or current active trades on mobile app. And this time around I've noticed it appears that institutions & hedges are able to see my orders, entry and stop levels by watching the price actions nearing my orders 🤔

Thank you for sharing your experience. We regret the difficulties encountered with the mobile app requiring repeated logins, limitations when using the mobile and desktop platforms simultaneously, and instances involving orders not appearing as expected. For assistance with your technical matters, please reach out to Client Services so we can assist in troubleshooting: interactivebrokers.com/en/support/customer-service.php?p=contact

Your comments regarding debit card deposit and withdrawal options, withdrawal holds on ACH transfers, and mobile app features are noted.
