Reits will benefit from this Fed's rate cutsReits are more defensive by nature and I hold a certain percentage of my overall portfolio. The lowering of interest rates will benefit this sector pretty well.

Have you invested in GOLD ?Here, I show 3 different products that invests in Gold - equity , ETF and futures contract. As to which one is suitable for you, you have to decide on your own risk appetite, understanding of the products, time line and investment objectives. From a longer time frame on a monthly chart, we can clearly see that both XAUUSD and GLD since 1 Dec 2016 has been steadily moving to an upward trajectory. On comparison, CNMC stock listed in the SGX market was up initially before going downhill and stay stagnant in a sideway move for 10 years before a metoric rally this year ! Everyone risk appetite is different - some like it slow and steady so they can sleep well while others prefer the adrenaline rush of an overnight rally of sort ! Again, I hear some commenting that Gold is not a productive asset class and like Warren Buffett , we should refrain from investing in it. I disagree . WB is at a very different league. Your investable capital determines to a large extent what asset class you can invest in , how diversified you can extend and the timeline. Investing billions in 3 months Treasury bills will still yield him a substantial returns but not the common folks, Of course, we are talking about money you can afford to lose not all entire fortune just to copy his style. So, you can see a 1000 or 5000 capital invested in gold will yield you pretty good returns! Do not follow others blindly and learn to have your own investment style. Afterall, you are responsible for your own wealth creation. Other's portfolio can serve as a reference for you to consider the risk/rewards. P/S : invested in XAUUSD, GLD not CNMC (views may be biased, please DYODD)

Watching Suntec ReitsI am watching this office occupancy space closely as SG is a land scarce country and the government is introducing a more balance idea of work and play concept into the prime office area. This should boost occupancy rates down the road. Rental rates are projected to increase as well so that is a positive sign. Many businesses that wants to tap into the Asia market like to set up an office in SG and with good government policies, stability, it offers investors a good reason to choose SG over other countries be it the healthcare sector, IT, Robotics, etc. Please DYODD

SATS Full of PotentialSATS, a former superstar, seems to be making a comeback this year. The pandemic and WFS acquisition raised many doubts about management, but the latest excellent quarterly results and dividend distribution show that the company is coming back stronger. The recent contract renewal with SIA and the acquisition of Menzies World Cargo (Amsterdam) to expand EU market capacity signal growing demand for cargo handling recovery. SATS appears to be regaining investor confidence.

SIA Testing $6.86 Resistance Ahead of 15 May EarningsSingapore Airlines (SIA) is testing a key resistance at $6.86 as it gears up to announce its full-year results on 15 May. The drop in oil prices could give the company a boost with better margins. If it breaks above $6.86, we might see more upside. But if it fails, a short-term dip over the next 7 trading days is likely — could be a good chance to re-enter after a pullback.

Analysts from RHB and Maybank expect that potential Fed rate cut Analysts from RHB and Maybank expect that potential Fed rate cuts and government support may ease pressure on S-Reits, especially those in healthcare, suburban retail, and industrial segments. Longer lease expiries and Singapore’s limited tariff exposure also offer stability. Despite the selloff, analysts continue to back S-Reits as long-term defensive plays. OCBC Investment Research noted that S-Reits outperformed the broader market from Apr 3–7, with the FTSE ST All-Share Reit Index down 5.2% versus the Straits Times Index’s 10.1% fall. Maybank Securities and DBS Group Research named top picks like..

CapitaLand (9CI) Ready to Soar? Watch This Key Level!By Eric Lee , Sales Director of Phillip Nova CapitaLand Investment (SGX: 9CI) has been in a downtrend since October 2024, falling from its peak of $3.20. However, recent technical signals suggest that accumulation may be taking place, with a potential breakout on the horizon. The volume profile indicates significant trading activity in the $2.40 to $2.60 range, which could signify either accumulation or distribution. Given the bullish signals emerging from other indicators, accumulation appears more likely. The stock has recently broken out of a Bollinger Band squeeze, typically a sign of increased volatility. The price action suggests buyers are stepping in, pushing the stock above short-term resistance levels. The Know Sure Thing (KST) momentum indicator, displayed in the lower panel, is in a strong upward trajectory, reinforcing bullish sentiment. This suggests that positive momentum is building, potentially supporting a move higher. Key levels to watch include $2.63 as immediate resistance, with a breakout above this level potentially confirming the bullish trend and setting the next upside target around $3.00. On the downside, $2.40 remains a critical support level. A failure to hold above this level could indicate further weakness. Investors and traders should watch for confirmation signals before taking positions.

S-REITs – Mapletree Pan Asia potential reboundMapletree Pan Asia is finally lifting from the support line at SGD 1.18. The REITs sector is typically seen as a defensive play during periods of weak market sentiment. The decline in Singapore’s interest rates and growing expectations of a Fed rate cut are driving its recovery. Despite a 5.96% dividend yield, concerns remain as net property income continues to decline following the divestment of Mapletree Anson.
